Me: man 😔 I wish Lego didn't retire the Lego Monkie Kid: The Legendary Flower Fruit Mountain set. It looked so cool...

(This was one of the few sets out of the ones I could find where Monkey King/Sun Wukong didn't look angy/feral 😔)

Where's the fruit? Eaten i guess. Who is that guy? Blond/bleached hair Wukong?? Why doesn't he have a tail? Who knows?

A whopping 42 pieces and a sticker (for the sign that says Flower Fruit Mountain)

Minifig time:

The instructions say to attach the legs, torso, and head but he's already mostly in one piece? Body is cast in metallic silver/grey with painted/printed on details

The hand parts did not fit very smoothly into the arm sockets which made me worried in case it broke something;; tbh even with regular Lego sets hand parts make me anxious bc they are small and hard to fit

The wig is okay i guess; molded on hair and ears. Will need to do a comparison with LMK!Sun Wukong (bc I do have an actual LMK set)

The Flower? Fruit? Mountain??

There are some simple instructions on the back of the packaging box.

Since it's a knockoff/bootleg brick set that cost 3,500 won I didn't really have high expectations for the brick quality and indeed it was just. Ok.

Some blocks/parts have a very unfinshed look with plastic end bits still attached so I guess I could try filing some parts down? More microplastics oh no

Some blocks/parts are manufactured more tighter/looser than they should; there is one flower part that is very loose and i'm concerned it will be lost to some crevice of the house within 3 business days.

I do kind of like how it looks though? Like the clear water bricks and the leaves. (The sign sticker was already halfway peeled off when I opened the packaging it's ok)

It's no mountain tbh but if you can make a mountain out of a molehill nothing is impossible I suppose.

She is complete!!!

I made a lil lantern to put on the end of the driver's weird whip (?) thing instead of the apple, and hung some stuff off the side of the cart. The mailbox also came with a tiny letter (kind of visible there in background), and the lil food items are so cute and p detailed for what they are. 9.5/10 only because I was for real actually missing a couple pieces that I def didn't just lose in my couch (only one that actually mattered tho!)

Really happy to find this Chinese bootleg of the Lego modulars (exactly my reaction, Harley) and I think I'm obsessed with them. Sorry, Lego purists.
