August is my birthday month.⠀ ⠀ Last year, I spent the day of my birthday sulking and feeling sorry for myself. This year, I recognize that I am blessed because I have family and friends who love me… and there are no borders, barriers, or bullies dividing us.⠀ ⠀ This year, I vow to be thankful for being able to spend another birthday with my parents, and do my best to support those who have been unjustly forced to spend birthdays, holidays, and other days of significance away from the people who love them the most.⠀ ⠀ What’s worse than being apart from your loved ones on a special day?
