Anyway silly Murdle/Bordergrams AU idea where Irratino and Ty are related and going through two very different plots and sometimes call each other like:

is G.T. Karber physically capable of pairing two investigators together without giving them extreme sexual tension?

I initially posted this on discord, but I know there’s an active GT Karber fanbase here so here goes: I’ve been thinking about Letterinth for a while, notably that we don’t really get much in the way of our protagonist/central chaarcter’s lore. Murdle’s site has Logico titling each case, and appearing at the end to watch the guilty party get led away, and Bordergrams has a prequel to the story and direct communication to B as a Trainee. Letterinth doesn’t have anything.

And also the hint system warning us of a terrible fate… Bordergrams doesn’t have hints on its site, but with Murdle, while it’s framed as shady and underhanded, Irratino never lies or deceives you. And the wording is generally less malevolent. It just says we’ll be disappointed that Logico didn’t entirely deduce it himself. And in part, Letterinth’s Oracle does the same - they say that the cost is the satisfaction, but the wording (to me at least) frames it as a lot more horrifying beforehand compared to Irratino.

So, I’ve been wondering if perhaps we’re playing as the Minotaur trying to escape, and every time we consult the Oracle we’re actually further damning ourselves, becoming more and more like the beast that was meant to be confined, and by remembering language and quotes we’re working to regain our humanity and free ourselves. Idk, probably not, but it’ll be neat to see what the Letterinth lore is.

So, finished up QftQ! I have some thoughts, which I will list below!

I really liked Render's character development! I think it was really well done, and it was nice to see a protagonist change for the better rather than the worst in a bordergrams book. Its also nice to see his romance with Leigh worked out. Also nice to see that there were more allies than enemies overall- We had Devanna, but everyone else was overall quite nice. Honestly, I also think that Bordergrams is paced better than Murdle, but perhaps that is a terrible take :P However, having 80 puzzles vs 100 makes things move a bit quicker, and while each part is a fourth of the book overall, we do different things in each fourth (like, we didn't spend all of one part with Render in hell)

I'm also really glad that this did tie into the main Bordergrams lore! It would've been quite sad if the authors were just like "Wasn't that fucked up? anyways here's fantasy land :)" Though, I'm just not a big fan of the trope of "Fantasy/old timey land is actually in the future after the apocalypse" trope, so that didn't hit as much for me? Plus, the twists in this one felt a little more obvious than Bordergrams (except for Pan being possessed. Hello??????????????)

I'm probably gonna have to reread the lore tomorrow to make sure I didn't miss anything in my rush to complete it/giving up on the puzzles because I don't watch much TV or any sports, and am checked out of the pop culture zeitgeist, so half of my answers were just "who are you people??" I'm a stem major not a history one I don't know what the Iceland government is called 😭 Also I have a fair few questions but want to make sure I didn't miss the answers by mistake, which is entirely possible.

But, uh, if Render is a descendant of B, who did B get with? We would've known for sure if he got up to anything with Ripley, and then he was so distraught over her betrayal that he shut himself off and attempted murder suicide by explosion, so what happened? Overall fun time, he/they B agenda lives on spectacularly with "Death", and one day I hope for bordergrams yuri
