the worst thing is you get adults on this website convincing queer teenagers that the ability for queer fan creators to write freely about queerness is contingent on the freedom of gross adults to write gross child porn

Like, worst part is, that mention of “Defending babyfurs in the name of solidarity” as an example wasn’t hyperbole. It was based on something I actually saw somebody who I previously respected a lot say, more or less.

And, the worst part is, they defended that shit by talking about how it was part of a larger callout culture they had horrible experiences with; and directly compared it to their friends persecution by the (absolute scumbags) at Kiwi Farms for much less.

Thus kinda proving my point. And also making it even sadder...

I’m not super into lesbian dating sims, and I’m totally not the target audience in any case, so not really the best one to ask, but I do have a couple favourites:

Ghosts of Miami - Quite possibly the most 80s game you will ever play. Phoenix Wright-esque mystery solving combined with simple dating sim mechanics. Not all of the romance options are girls, but at least a two of them are. It might be three - I haven’t done all of the routes yet.

Her Tears Were My Light - Play as the anthropomorphic personification of Time. Date the anthropomorphic personification of Space. Short and sweet with light puzzle elements, and a good introduction to Nami’s work; if you like it, check out her other games.

(I’ve intentionally omitted anything with strong triggery themes or difficult gameplay in favour of lighter fare, as you sound like you could use a break. If neither of those are deal-breakers, let me know and I can expand on the list. Also check the notes, as I know many of this blog’s followers are VN addicts!)

OMG this to a tee. You know what else did that? Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. Every day is a good day to reread Jana’s writing.

Well I honestly can’t really say what happened regarding the villain because none of it made sense but that might be down to me being dumb. But as far as Chise and Elias go, she apparently...instantly forgave him for the thing with Stella. You know. FOR TRYING TO KILL HER FRIEND WITHOUT HER KNOWLEDGE. The thing that was treated, appropriately, as a big deal before! Instead, their argument was played as comical (they turned chibi and everything) Chise being all “hey i’m still mad at u, you stinker!!!” then they skipped over what their actual discussion was and apparently it was just resolved by Elias promising not to do it again! Well okay! That’s cool then!

So yes, it completely skips from Chise being furious with Elias and ready to leave him to cute chibi argument to...she proposes to him basically. Literally she gets in a wedding gown and is like lets do this. Ignoring all the issues a romance between them has, WHY would she suddenly decide to do this NOW??? Literally he just majorly fucked up and broke her trust. and has done nothing to really show he’s changed. Under what circumstrances would you decide “okay well he just broke my heart and proved he’s not emotionally mature enough to function as a human much less be in a relationship this is the time to make this thing between us official!!!” No build up or logic to that thought progression whatsoever.

Yep so it was Bad. On a lot of levels. I’m wasn’t super invested in the first place, and again, I suspect where the manga ends up going with it might be different (or at the very least, more logical and better paced) and this was just an anime original ending all crammed in one episode at the last minute but wow.
