Another thing Lavender and Borkul have in common is that Basil is probably the only person they're genuinely afraid of
The infant orc, frustrated at being picked up by Borkul pressed her brows together and grunted, tiny nose crinkling in an attempt to appear menacing. A chubby arm, with rolls that looked like sacks of grain stacked atop each-other came down on his wrist, hitting him to express her frustrations and displeasure. (There wasn't an anon option so oOOPS pretend you didn't see me here)
“Ferocious little thing, aren’t you?” Borkul, unfazed by the attack, continued with his business, cradling the babe against his chest. His one reaction was to call her bluff, catching the chubby little hand between his huge fingers, holding it securely, but gently. “Let’s save all that fight for the dragons instead of attacking Daddy, okay?”

Never before had Borkul thought he’d be so driven to learn about his family. The bandits had been his family, and then the Forsworn, and now Senna on top of that - who cared about some long forgotten orcs, who’d probably been taken by the cold or disease or some other pathetic kind of death?
When Borkul’s father - his bandit father - had asked Borkul to visit for the first time in years, though, that long-dormant curiosity and loneliness rushed back to the surface.
When the bandits had found him, he’d been nothing more than a baby, the sole survivor of whatever had killed off his tribe. His mother had been holding him when she died.
Why did that affect him so much?
Whatever the reason, it drove him as far as taking a friend to accompany him. Well, the only person he was even remotely close with who could make the trip. The very undercover cop who Borkul had been screwing around with for the past few months, long enough for something stronger to, slowly, come into existence.
The trip had taken them all day, over Skyrim’s countryside and halfway up a mountain. Borkul’s chest tightened with anticipation when he spotted the bones of the stronghold - his stronghold - long abandoned, blanketed in snow and frost, turned scarlet and pink by the sunset that reflected off of the falling snow.
Here they were.
modern borkul 🐗
there’s definitely a point in between the current timeline (after killing basil maybe) and rebuilding his stronghold when Borkul just spends months alone in the wilderness
he and senna part ways for a while after that whole ordeal (senna goes back to the priesthood for most of that time) because they both just have.... a lot to deal with.... Borkul does some mercenary work and wanders around for a while on his own, and eventually finds what’s left of his old stronghold up in the mountains, and just kind of. hangs out up there
i only say this because like.... Borkul growing his hair and beard out..... dressed up in layers and layers of furs to withstand the cold (because he’s up in like an evergreen forest in the mountains near where his stronghold was) and just.... being a little bit of a wild man for a while
guess who bb
my skyrim saves were lost when my computer was fixed and I don’t wanna go through Bumble’s again just yet so. we’re gonna try out dragonborn!Borkul
Borkul does know Lavender, sort of, but mostly because he knew Nals - before they stuck him in the mines and Nals was still being sleazy in Markarth. Really, Borkul only knew her as “Nal’s girl” whom he also had the privilege to sleep with - he rarely thinks of her nowadays, has no idea that Basil even has a sister, and honestly, if he found out, he’d be horrified.
