I hate how at first glance it looks like a silly joke but when you read the chapter everything starts to make sense...

Boruto Sunday is here again and I must say they're really catching up pretty quickly with the manga.

Here's just a few screenshots I got in today's episode, ep 202 (I'm focusing on Boruto since we didn't get much scenes with the Nanadaime except in the preview for the next episode) and the part in the manga they based the scenes from:

The five kage asked Kurama to babysit Kawaki. Him agreeing must’ve been one of the reasons that Kawaki was allowed to stay in Konoha and be rather free, so now that he’s gone, making Naruto weaker while at it, will the opinions of the kage be different on what to do with Kawaki?

Then again, Jigen’s now gone and they don’t know about Code’s plans yet, so perhaps Kawaki won’t even be seen as a threat anymore, especially with Naruto and Boruto backing him up.

Really liked this chapter. Boruto has had his moments, but since Kawaki came to the Leaf Boruto has been growing on me

Boruto Manga Review - Chapter 35 It's Up To You

Analysis on Boruto chapter 35 (original translation)

Wow a lot of happened in this chapter, lots of references, old character, and flashbacks from original Naruto including Sasuke, Sai, and Shikamaru.

Now, if you remember the last chapter, it ended with Kurama meeting Kawaki, and this one started with Kurama introducing himself and talking about Naruto when he was young. Also he mentioned that Kawaki resembles Naruto.

After hearing how lonely Naruto was, like he is, and how void in his heart was filled by other people, Kawaki asked Kurama can he be like that too.

AND HOW KAWAKI REACTED TO ALL OF THAT?

HE CRIED! KAWAKI CRIED!

One quick detail: he’s still repairing Hima’s vase.

The following morning we have Kawaki training with Naruto and Boruto, and he’s already good at chakra control and can climb a tree. And then he asked to learn Kage Bushin, and Naruto was at first like ‘no too early’ but Boruto fixed it haha.

And then we had a brief page of Sarada and Chocho watching them, and Salad was jealous of attention Kawaki was getting from Naruto, Chocho kinda comforted her though, I guess.

 Next up Shikamaru and Sai showed up, talking about Kawaki, Kara and Jigen.

Speaking of Sasuke...

There’s still crazy Otsutsuki shit going on (I’ll probably explain it bad haha so I’m just gonna show you everything that’s happened)

(Btw am I the only one that thinks Ikemoto’s changed his way of drawing Sasuke a bit? He resembles Kishimoto’s version more in my opinion)

Don’t worry there will be more Sasuke in the chapter haha, but first we’re going back to Naruto, Boruto, Kawaki, Mitsuki and Sarada. They were walking around the village, probably going home, and Sarada asked is the seal on Sakura’s forehead connected to Kara, because Jigen also has a diamond on his chin. Also some classic Jigen shittalk from Kawaki.

And we get to my favorite part on the entire chapter - Boruto saying he can’t leave Kawaki alone now that he’s learned so much about him, Kawaki and Boruto talking they’ll defeat Jigen together, AND Boruto called Kawaki ‘bother’!

And for the end, more Sasuke, also one scene with Boruto and Mitsuki after.

When I saw painted nails I thought “Oh shit it’s either some Akatsuki come back to life or a chick” it was Jigen though haha. Very important thing is that mysterious creature Sasuke saw is, at least Jigen said so, Jyuubi. To be honest I think it’s unoriginal but oh well it’s just me... New villain - good, old tool - nah.

And the last page, Boruto and Mitsuki alone in the woods talking about a mission to defeat Jigen.

I really liked how he highlighted his relationships with both Naruto and Sasuke.

Next chapter will be released on July 20th... Means July 18th on the page I’m reading on though. Anyway can’t wait.
