Bibita is a minimalist bottle rack designed by London-based designer Max Frommeld for Mattiazzi. Wood is a natural, renewable material with no two pieces alike. Each plank is different and each species has different properties and characteristics. Wood is ‘alive’ forever, even after being cut, dried, and processed, so it is inherently related to time. Objets made from wood, from small to big scale, can out-live many generations if looked after and treated correctly.

A celebration of the versatile Marcel Duchamp, born on this day, July 28, in 1887. This post, his readymade pieces:

 “The readymade [...] defied the notion that art must be beautiful. Duchamp claimed to have chosen everyday objects ‘based on a reaction of visual indifference, with at the same time a total absence of good or bad taste….’ In doing so, Duchamp paved the way for Conceptual art—work that was ‘in the service of the mind,’ as opposed to a purely ‘retinal’ art, intended only to please the eye.” (MOMA)
