Ricky Jay - Poker Demo

There is something about gambling demonstrations. I believe that the surprise climax, that seems to be a leitmotiv on this sort of demonstration, can sometimes overshadow the impact of the technique itself that you are trying to demonstrate. Some effects are constructed in a way that indicates that the main objective is not to show real sleight of hand used at the card table, but to confuse the spectator about what exactly happened.

Below you can find a great bottom deal demonstration by Ricky Jay. I believe that the advantages of this version are the fairness and directness of the handling, and that the climax makes sense: it conveys the idea that  "it happened more than I told you it would", instead of "forget what I say before, I fooled you". For this reason I consider this version stronger than other bottom deal demos like "From the Cellar' (ORTIZ, Darwin, Cardshark, p. 175).
