A headcannon i have for Kakagai is that Kakashi is the first person who ever tops Gai.
Every other relationship Gai has had he has been the undisputed top. Either because his partner wants him to be, or because he felt it was the best way to go and it was the way he was most familiar with
Kakashi is the first partner to ever ask Gai if he can top him, and Gai finds he’s surprisingly excited at the idea. Even more surprised when he actually loves Kakashi topping, because Kakashi pinning him to the bed and telling him all of the dirty things he’s going to do to him is hot AF
