Febuwhump Day 8, Bleeding Out

----------------------------------------------------------------------------
So uhh devastating thought,
I was rewatching the botw memories and Yk how basically everyone in the fandom agrees that link loves cooking and is really good at it?
Well, What if links loves cooking so much/is so good at it bc is mom (presumably) died when he was young, shortly after his sister was born, (this is based off concept art btw) and his dad was off at the castle a lot bc he’s part of the royal guard so link learned how to cook for him and his sister .
My siblings addition: adding on that, the reason he loves food so much and “would do anything for food” is because since his dad was always away he’d always make sure his sister ate before him meaning he got less food and ate less and then he becomes a knight and all of a sudden he’s eating royal meals all the time so naturally he loves it and comes across as a gluten bc he’s never had this before.
I mean he even eats rocks willingly for fucks sake-
Phew! It took me two whole days to do this. But I am incredibly proud of the outcome. However, further Linktober entries are unlikely to be as complex.
So, context: last year, the user @bahbahhh posted an entry where she theorized that the events of AoC are nothing more than a dream of Zelda, or her false memories, which she invented so as not to feel guilty for the dead. I found this theory very interesting, especially as it perfectly explained the happy ending of Age of Calamity, despite the fact that from Breath of the Wild, we learned about the completely different fate of the heroes. But at some point, the princess realized she was only lying to herself...
The moments shown outside the fragments I plan to describe in my future fanfic "Hyrule Warriors: The Backstories." That’s why Impa doesn’t have one eye here and has a slightly different design.

SPOILER FOR BOTW ENDING AND CHAMPIONS BALLAD EXPANSION PACK
ok so the champions ballad battles in the expansion pack are essentially supposed to be what the champions went through right?
imagine being link. you wake up with no memory only to find out that not only does the fate of the world depends on you, oh yeah, all of your friends are dead too. double whammy. that’s already bad enough right. nope. then you have to literally live through their last moments, with only what they had equipped. so now you get to see how unprepared they were for ganon to take over the divine beasts the way he did. and the worst part of it is that you survive. and you have to do it 3 more times with the other divine beasts. you have to live through their last moments and continue on to defeat the calamity that killed your friends.
Febuwhump Day 25 (Assumed Dead): Reborn From Malice
ao3 link (6th in a series)
Link thought he might be dead. He couldn’t see, hear, or even feel anything, his body floating in an empty void for all he knew. Slowly, he started to become aware again, feeling trickling back into his body bit-by-bit, starting with sensation creeping back into his limbs. He was somewhere warm, that was the first thing he realised, enveloped in something warm and comforting, moving around him in pulses, like the beating of a heart.
As he started to wake up fully, he felt it pull away from him, his skin shivering from the cold air outside, before it withdrew entirely, his body slipping out and down onto a cold and rocky floor. Squinting up, he saw that he was in a cave, the stone ceiling above him teeming with the pinkish-purple substance that he’d fallen from— malice, his scattered memory told him. He couldn’t remember much he realised. The malice was all over him as well, coating his skin and staining the clothes he wore.
A sorrowful reminiscent...
