Professor Rennie Tang and artist Mel Chin introduce the five #cppla Art and Landscape Fellows (Cristina Plemel, Iliana Valenzuela, Ivan Ochoa, Chris Valenzuela, Galina Novikova) who will guide and facilitate the 512 #thetiethatbinds "mirror site" installations throughout Los Angeles. #cpplaalumni Hilda Del Real worked in the first phase of the project. (Below) Eight #demonstrationgardens lie within a grid-work of #landart defining the silhouette of eight #endemicspecies. The overarching goal of "mirror sites" is to supplant #invasive and/or water-intensive vegetation like fountain grass (pictured), which displaces #nativeplants that would otherwise provide habitat. #CPPLA #CPPASLA #cppenv #bravelycurious #learnbydoing #landscapearchitecture #currentla #bowtieproject #landscape #socialactivism #urbanecology #multidisciplinary #landscape (at Otis College of Art and Design)
