One article in this issue described how to replace the Intel 8088 in your Tandy 1000 with the NEC V-20, speeding up calculations by "up to 24 percent" ("For $25, it's the best bargain in speed since the $8 crystal for the PC AT.") Tandy's older "MS-DOS machine," the Tandy 2000, was examined with the question "What Makes a Compatible?" Even as portable disk drives for the Model 100 were talked up, one lengthy article looked at "Coping with Cassettes" for its mass storage.
