Sometimes I wonder if people even actually watch The Unit at all???? Because I always see so many hate comments about it and how the first couple episodes went.

I see so much shit about how the show doesn’t focus on older idols  who need rebooting but if you ACTUALLY WATCH PAST THE FIRST 2 EPS, they really did give more screen time to underrated idols that have been in the industry longer.  Yes there are exceptions obviously (Serri and Ungjae never get screentime..my poor babies) but even if they’re kinda short scenes, I think they have some impact for idols from like Melody Day, Matilda, A.C.E, Imfact, MyName, etc.  

-Jeup had amazing high notes which and his voice is soooo good -Yeoeun is a top notch singer and she is so funny whenever they show her -I remember Yoomin bc of the scene witht he heels and how tall they were  -Sungjun from Boy’s Republic is hilaroius -A.C.E in general>>>

Now I have another point, in that KBS is a business and they want  successful show.  So they’re going to have to cater to what the majority likes and this is simply the truth.  They’re not going to always have a focus on every idol to be quite honest, they probably don’t always have the most interesting interactions all the time.  KBS shows the groups training for their next performance and shows the highlights to fit into their time frame.  They’ll show someone singing well or someone struggling to keep the show engaging for their viewers.

There’s also no doubt that TV networks warp their shows to show a certain viewpoint but unless they give us fake leader boards every week, they can’t always control the voters opinions.  I don’t recall Semmi getting an amazing amount of screen time before she shot up 30something spots.

Overall I love the Unit and I do love all the contestants and it makes me sad to see people hating on the show so much.  The Unit seems like a much better show than other survivals because everyone on this show always has such good spirits and everyone is always bringing each other up and even when they leave, they leave with words of encouragement because so many of the judges know the struggle of being a nobody in the entertainment industry.

Watch the show before you judge the whole thing please because it’s super engaging and exciting to see these underrated idols get some attention even for just a little bit.
