Performing open heart surgery! Don't touch me, I'm sterile! I think it might be clear with two cylinders are the problem children, especially with the knackered up valvestem seal. Took me 3 dang hours to get this point :/ and had to pause again to go get extraction kits because the exhaust side wants to be an utter prat. Ugh... Cams are straight! :D With this, I'm calling it a night. The VJ literally took all this time x.x lapping them I found oddly therapeutic and calming. Perhaps it's because I can hear results happening and it only gets better the faster I went. The hardest part was keeping the lapping tool centered and not contaminated so it would remain sucked to the valve face. So let's see... ~Cleaned/spun all 16 valves ~Cleaned VVT actuator and flushed VVT solenoid (lot of sludge buildup for some reason.) ~16 new steam seals ~Lapped all valves ~Chased every thread that looked corroded and may cause trouble (practically all of them!) ~Cleaned waterneck and inspected for cracks (sorta common for high mileage newer BP engines) Now all that's left is to get the valve springs back in and shimmed, make a VVT CAS blockoff plate then prep the car for the swap...
