Former Sask. premier Brad Wall gave strategic advice to key convoy organizer

The data logs include 26 text messages between Wall and Barber, and four phone calls between their numbers totalling over 29 minutes in length.

Former Saskatchewan premier Brad Wall was in contact with a key organizer of the Freedom Convoy anti-mandate protest, providing strategic advice before and after the Ottawa occupation began.

“Your group will likely be provoked by counter protesters and it is so important that they don't take the bait,” Wall said in a text message he sent Saskatchewan truck driver Chris Barber on February 2, according to court records.

“Also it is really important that any of those who are trying to hitch their wagon to this convoy with ulterior motives and off messages - especially racist stuff be openly and roundly condemned by the organizers.”

Wall cited as an example another protest organizer who was later criminally charged, Pat King, who commented in a Facebook video about Anglo Saxon replacement theory.

This morning I stood with dozens of concerned locals over the cuts the SaskParty have made. We greeted our NDP MLAs who came in on the STC bus here in Moose Jaw, SK.

For those who don’t know, Brad Wall and the SaskParty axed the STC, a vital means of transportation to not only rural communities, but simply getting city to city, delivering packages, or getting to school (as their is a shuttle provided by STC from Saskatoon to Regina).

They also cut funding to libraries, schools, to name a few. In Moose Jaw alone the public library had to layoff six people.

While library attendance is up from last year and forecasted to be up again this year, why is the SaskParty cutting funding to our libraries?

Schools can no longer afford to accept anymore new students, and are forced to hold off on programs due to begin in fall of 2017 for children with special needs.

These are just a few of the things the NDP is holding the SaskParty accountable for. The NDP is standing up for our crown corporations, children, and rural communities!

Alberta Cuts Deficit, Adds 33,000 Jobs in 12 Months, while Sask Falls Behind

Economists have noted that the Alberta Government’s refusal to engage in an austerity approach has improved the position of the province, by maintaining employment, and keeping income tax revenue stable through the crash.

Alberta has seen an increase of thirty-three thousand jobs in twelve months ending June 2018, and a two-and-a-half billion dollar decrease in its provincial deficit from March projections, as Saskatchewan falls behind with the worst job numbers since the early 1990s, and the highest provincial debt in the Province’s history.

Brad Wall joining Calgary-based law firm with ties to Kinder Morgan

Former Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall has a new job.

The Saskatchewan government says it is not aware of any relationship between the province and the Kinder Morgan-linked law firm for which former premier Brad Wall is serving as an adviser, but it is something the province is examining.

In a press release Tuesday, Calgary-based Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP announced Wall will be a special adviser to the firm and its clients.

The same company acted for Kinder Morgan Canada during its application to the National Energy Board expansion of the Trans Mountain pipeline.

Amity again reigns on the peaceful Canadian Prairies. You can leave your Alberta plates on your pickup truck when you work on that Government of Saskatchewan highway improvement site before you head back to your Lloydminister bungalow on the Alberta side at 5 o'clock.

The last act in office of Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall -- beneficiary of a long and determined campaign of nauseating hagiography characterizing him as the brilliant and beloved Mr. Congeniality of Confederation -- was to be hoist with his own petard.

As a result, when he shuffles off into political history on Saturday, Wall will be remembered by most Canadians as the petty and petulant right-wing premier whose last official act was to let a personal temper tantrum at Alberta's NDP nearly escalate into an interprovincial trade war that had the potential to cost his economically beleaguered province's taxpayers a $5-million fine under the terms of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement.

Opinion | Alberta license plates a no-no in Saskatchewan

Premier Brad Wall appears to be off-the-wall with his campaign against interprovincial trade barriers.

Maybe Saskatchewan premier Brad Wall, one of only two conservative premiers still standing, just felt the need to lash out in frustration before he retires from politics.

Maybe he just couldn’t stomach anymore the NDP government in neighbouring Alberta, especially given that the Saskatchewan NDP is on the rise again.

Whatever the reason, he declared last week that Albertans should be very careful when they cross the Saskatchewan border. In fact, he made it clear that if they are going to work on Saskatchewan Ministry of Highways and Infrastructure construction sites they better have Saskatchewan license plates or else they will be banished back to the other side of the border.

Premier Brad Wall continues using private emails five months after vowing to stop

Asked about the premier’s use of private emails and the exchange, Young said in a statement Wall has previously said there would be times he would inadvertently use his SaskParty account “since he used it for years.”

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall has continued to use his private email for government business, despite vowing five months ago he would stop doing so.

In May, Wall’s use of a private email server for government business was called into question by the Opposition NDP, prompting Wall’s office to say in a statement that the premier, “has indicated he will be using a government of Saskatchewan email account for government business.”
