Compared to the lies women told, men’s braggadocio was rough, their facades easy to poke holes in.

I’ve been active on twitter for about two weeks now, for writing reasons. And it’s as awful as advertised. People say it’s like tumblr five years ago, and, yeah, it is absolutely exactly like that. Apparently that’s where most of the toxic tumblr nonsense went. I hate it. But also because I was on twitter, last month I saw an open call for my right-now-realistic dream literary journal, managed to get an essay written up and sub’d thinking it wouldn’t go anywhere. Turns out they want it and are publishing it. Which is like ... that part is awesome. But it’s also dispiriting in that I guess this means I’m stuck on Twitter for the long haul.
