Bruce gets his retina detached again after a bad hit from a rogue and his sight's recovering for 2-4 weeks, which a) allows the Batfam to rehash and refine their "blind as a bat" jokes and puns, which have aged even worse this time, b) Bruce gets to test out the new contact-brain interface Lucius designed for him despite Alfred's objections and Bruce is a little too pleased by how well it works (most of the time) c) Bruce is even worse at telling his kids apart and accidentally refers to a helmeted Duke as Stephanie and calls Jason "Dick" (which Jason milks the hell out of), sulks under the Batarang-use ban, walks into a wall at a crime scene, gets jumpscared by Cass, nearly trips over his own cape, and has a very awkward interaction with Gordon when his new contact lenses get glitchy and Gordon questions why Bruce is staring right into the Batsignal and talking to it.

heinrix romance kinda changing my brain chemistry.

as much as i love my chaotic disaster romances i am ultimately a sucker for this kind of story.

I love how competent and professional Heinrix is...but there are those little cracks he shows towards the Rogue Trader and you realize there is more behind the surface.

He is also extremely sarcastic in the best way possible.

Do you ever just want to brain dump your story ideas on someone without worrying about it being full of spoilers and ruining it for the person you’re brain dumping too?

I don’t think I ever saw the point of journaling until I thought about it in terms of how to-do lists function. It’s not necessarily the items you put on the list that make the difference, it’s the fact that you’re writing them down. 

Brains are good for coming up with things but not so great at storing them, so if you have a bunch of shit in your head - whether that’s things you need to get done or things you need to purge from your headspace - then you’re not going to function as well as you could, let alone thrive, achieve and heal because that creates internal chaos. 

The idea of “braindumping” has really caught on lately and I’m very grateful for that. We carry a lot of things around with us on a daily basis, and that baggage should (ideally) be unpacked on a daily basis. If you don’t it tends to accumulate until it has no choice but to come out as one huge unburdening. 

It’s like the difference between keeping a tidy home in increments by staying on top of daily chores VS letting things get worse and filthier and more and more jam-packed day by day until you have to do some massive intervention-style declutter.

The Japanese name of Malladus, the final boss of Spirit Tracks, is マラドー/ Maradō.

It seems pretty clearly derived from the Japanese spelling of “Mallard”, マラード/Marādo, only with the long-vowel mark moved to a different spot.

I kinda like to romanize it as Mallador, even if it’s not ideal, because it still contains all the letters from “Mallard”.

Though I guess you could also go for something like Mallad’r ? That one solely uses letters from “Mallard”, just like the Japanese original.

I think either of these is what I’d have gone for, but “Malladus” is good, too.
