It was nice to hear Blackcap at Winnall Moors where I saw Green-veined White and Ringlet and see and hear the Winchester Peregrines again and Speckled Wood, marsh valerian, marsh thistle, lady's bedstraw and bird's-foot trefoil today.

Sparrowhawk, Carrion Crow, Tufted Ducks, Common Darter, a hoverfly, a butterfly seen quickly I couldn't quite tell what but probably Peacock or Red Admiral, white clover and bramble flower for a second day were other highlights today.

Oxeye daisy, dock, a gorgeous female Beautiful Demoiselle, ribwort plantain and bramble flowers at Lakeside Country Park today, a view at Lakeside yesterday evening and roses in the front garden and at the Royal Hampshire Regiment Museum in Winchester yesterday.

Between Lakeside, central Winchester and Winnall Moors today and yesterday other highlights included my first Meadow Brown butterfly of the year another summer butterfly seen this year, my first Banded Demoiselles of the year, exquisite views of Emperor dragonfly including an egg laying female at Winnall Moors, Garden Warbler heard, Peregrine Falcon, Tufted Duck, meadow crane's-bill, wintercress, grass vetchling and ragged robin.
