So allow me to share a Smash Ultimate headcanon based off the arguments I've seen over 'did Shulk really do nothing or something during all those lasers': He and Kirby are good friends and since Shulk's -really smart- he probably found out how Kirby's Warp Star generally worked, and cast Monado Speed on Kirby to give our puff the ability to avoid those lasers long enough to charge the Warp Star up to warping capabilities.

I’ve seen this headcanon flying around since the day of the Direct and I’m totally on board with it A++. I mean Shulk saw what would happen and we know there would be no point in him casting Shield because if a barrier of a freaking goddess couldn’t deflect the beam, chances are the Monado wouldn’t fare much better. So even though we didn’t see what he did, I can totally believe him doing that.

Yuri's probably gonna be real likely, ngl. He's like -the- most popular Tales character.

It’s like, so… Here’s my thought.

Atlas belongs to Sega now, so technically, Joker is Sega’s second character in Smash.

Konami has Snake and the Belmonts.

PlatinumGames has Bayonetta, and maybe we COULD get another character from PlatinumGames, like Wonder Red? I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.

Capcom has Mega Man and Ryu/Ken.

Namco Bandai needs a second rep now, because all they have is Pac-Man. CALL UPON THE YURI.

EDIT: Okay there’s also just Cloud but just give us Geno then man don’t murder me with Sora alright.

EDIT 2: OKAY so I forgot that Sega technically owns Bayonetta (I kept meaning to update the post and kept forgetting) so Joker is technically Sega’s third character in Smash.

But at this point everyone else besides Square because they’re cheapasses has three representatives now. Bandai Namco, despite co-developing the game, has one representative right now. And in addition to that, tri-Crescendo--part of the development team from tri-Ace which was half of Wolf Team that broke off from Tales of Phantasia when Tales studio was formed--also helped develop SSB4 and SSBU.

tl;dr What I’m saying here is WHERE THE FUCK IS MY TALES CHARACTER?

There's also apparently a fan theory that Galacta Knight is actually an AU Meta Knight who more or less chose the powers of 'light' as opposed to 'darkness', though it's a bit of a stretch to me....

I haven’t heard this theory before but it is interesting, though as you say it does seem like a bit of a stretch as there isn’t really much to go off of other than the appearance of Meta Knight and Galacta Knight. 

I’ve heard a theory where people proposed Galacta Knight is a future/AU version of Kirby, since his body is more pink and he is a worthy foe to Meta Knight. The whole more light/angelic appearance might support that too. But I see Kirby as a jack of all trades rather than focusing on one ability/skill the way Meta Knight and Galacta Knight do, so Galacta Knight’s moveset doesn’t quite support that theory. 

Still, theories with Kirby are super fun because the lore of Kirby is so insanely deep for something so innocent that it’s practically a free for all.

I’m not sure if you’ve taken a look at the main site for USUM yet. You can clearly see the eyes in that ‘star’, but it also looks like it has a body - WHAT IS NECROZMA.

In all honesty though, probably Eizen. He had a cool introduction and is just a fun badass overall. I hate how this game is making me hurt over what happened to him in Zestiria though and knowing Tales games, it'll only hurt more as it goes on. ;_;

To be fair though, I mained Rokurou while the boyfriend was playing as Velvet, and Rokurou himself is a fun guy. I typically play better as melee-based characters in Tales games, with a few exceptions like Rita and Genis. NEVER make me the healer in the party though. EVER. EVERYONE WILL DIE.
