first day of Brave Trails vs the last day 💛
the lgbtqa+ summer camp i donate to sent me a nice card :)
This camp isn't just where LGBTQ kids can find a place to be themselves — it's where they learn to be leaders. (via Dose)
Brave Trails is a camp that provides not just an amazing community of support for LGBTQ youth, but the opportunity to foster the skills of a leader. Check out the video here for a brief overview. See if you can spot one of our directors in the vid (he’s proudly donning one of our t-shirts)!
Check out Support Elliott to attend Brave Trails! by Brave Trails!
Hey everyone! I’m currently raising money to help pay for the cost of tuition to go this LGBT leadership summer camp called Brave Trails and I’d really appreciate if anyone can reblog, share the link and/or my youtube video, or donate to my fundraiser!! My parents can’t fully afford my tuition to go so BT gave me the option to fundraise through them to cover most or all of the cost. Also, if I exceed my goal, then the extra money goes towards another camper who also needs financial aid to help cover their tuition as well! <3
LGBTQ+ summer camp Brave Trails gave The Advocate its response to the backlash, maintaining that "the negative words from these hate groups
Ryan Adamczeski at The Advocate:
A summer camp for LGBTQ+ youth is speaking out after conservatives called for a boycott of the popular outdoor clothing brand, The North Face, simply for sponsoring them. To incite outrage among its followers, anti-transgender extremist group Gays Against Groomers recently drudged up a post from 2021 in which The North Face announced it would be donating $70,000 to the LGBTQ+ summer camp, Brave Trails. Gays Against Groomers is identified as an anti-LGBTQ+ extremist group by the Anti-Defamation League and the Southern Poverty Law Center, with several of its leaders having known affiliations with far-right groups like the Proud Boys.
Gays Against Groomers described the camp, which is accredited by the American Camp Association, only as a place where “kids as young as 12” go to “perform in drag," likening the art form to the abuse of "grooming." The organization then called for a boycott of the clothing brand for its donations to the camp. "It sounds like they are just begging for the [Bud Light] treatment, and we think we should give it to them," the group wrote, referencing the backlash the beer company received last year after a single paid promotion with transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney. Brave Trails is a nonprofit that focuses on leadership development in LGBTQ+ youth and allies ages 12 to 18. Communications Director Jake Young told The Advocate that they will not be deterred from their mission of supporting young queer people as "hate groups try to promote a false-narrative about the work that we do."
"For many decades, the LGBTQ+ community has been targeted with false stories and accusations," they said. "Despite this, we believe that the negative words from these groups won't stop the important work we do at Brave Trails. We remain committed to creating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals, led by LGBTQ+ individuals." Young said that "our programming is all centered around the goal of connecting LGBTQ+ youth to their people, place, and passion." For safety, those at Brave Trails are required to travel in groups of three at all times, and counselors undergo rigorous background checks and specialized training before they work with campers. Alongside first aid services, the camp also provides two counselors per cabin, and trained therapists available on-site. Brave Trails' 2024 locations will be in New York and California, though Young said that they do not publicly reveal the addresses to protect their campers and staff, in the event of negative attention such as the recent online uproar.
The North Face, a brand that has long been allied with LGBTQ+ causes, is facing calls of a boycott from conservatives, as anti-trans extremist group Gays Against Groomers attacked the company for funding $70K to LGBTQ+ summer camp Brave Trails.

Boycott Culture And An Actual Reason To Boycott
Since the far-right likes go woke, go broke to harm companies who will not cater to them, their latest casualty is The North Face. What has The North Face done to earn the wrath of MAGA? They have been sponsoring Brave Trails, a leadership camp for LGBTQ2+ teens and allies in California and Maryland. Boycott culture does not hurt the CEO or the board of The North Face. The people who will be…

Camp Brave Trails
What's that? It's a leadership summer camp for LGBT youth and allies and is the best experience I've ever had! It may be pricy but its non-profit and all the money goes to paying for supplies for camp. Everyone is super nice and respectful there, never a full moment.
It's ages 11-18 and worth the cost. One week sessions are 1000 and two week are 2000. There's an interview process but in the end the best part is not until you get there and feel all the love. Cheesy, I know.
