Would reverse Zenyatta's ult be a AOE damage over time with him channeling the negative side of the iris?

If you’d like to think of it that way, you’re welcome to, I think. 

Personally, I don’t think the Iris necessarily has a negative side--or a positive side, for that matter. It doesn’t bear any mark of humanity, and just sort of is this well of light upon which everything rests, or rests in.

This is just a matter of personal preference, of course, since there’s not much in the ways of a canon surrounding the Iris. There may well be a dark side, after all! But I like to think of it as a neutral force whose positive effects are entirely incidental to its absolute nature.

Still like the aoe damage over time ult idea for Zenyatta, even though my take yields no answers as to the source of it lmao

It wasn’t uncommon for Reimu to be called out to handle small things every now and again across Gensokyo — from purifications to blessings and the occasional exorcism, she had done it all hundreds of times over, and yet she still managed to be surprised every time something too small to be a full incident but too big to be ignored cropped up.

For example, an oni... in a human bar. 

Any details outside of that were vague at best, leaving much of it up to Reimu’s imagination. Was it Suika (again)? And was the oni causing enough trouble to bring a danmaku duel into consideration? These were the types of questions Reimu entertained as she floated in the direction of the bar in question, purification rod held tightly in her clenched fist.

She could handle Suika. The area around the bar was nothing short of abandoned, any other potential customers and even the employees having fled the scene, so she could just tell her to head on back over to the shrine and—

“— Yuugi?” This was not expected. (What was even more unexpected is that Reimu even recalled her name.) The shrine maiden floated down until her feet touched the ground, and crossed her arms over her chest as she nothing short of leered at the former deva. “What— what are you doing in Gensokyo?”

I just always figured it had a sort of duality- some of Zenyatta's quotes mention balance, and it if it's what gives it powers, then surely he draws more from 'harmony' than 'discord' given his shiny arms matching his harmony orb, but this is just guessing! The Iris is a huge mystery indeed, and one I hope we get at least a little information about!

I’m curious too! Depending how Dharmic they want to get with it (I guess since followers of the Iris believe in the existence of souls, that makes them more pseudo-jainist than pseudo-buddhist, but beyond that it’s murky to me) it could really go either way. Here’s hoping they elucidate even a tiny bit in the future haha

“Spin, spin, spin...” The Tengu cooed quietly, before falling against the side of the tree. She’d been watching Hina, and ended up getting just a bit too dizzy trying to follow her. “Hehe...” she giggled.

She was not okay.

Reverse (yuugi or hina. Or both if you feel like it)

Spin, spin, spin, like a beautifully decorated top or dreidel. The gracefully moving figure through the mountain path stuck out as an almost ethereal sight. This was simply the visage of the curse goddess, doing her part to ward away the unpleasant auras that had lingered to this area.

Though many may be entranced by her footwork, that malignant presence swirling around her as she worked her magic would give anyone a chill up their spine. Hence, nobody typically approaches the curse goddess, seeing her as a terrifying encounter.

That doesn’t discourage Hina though. Even now, she slowly spins towards a young woman curled up against the tree, dirty and miserable due to several instances of misfortune in her life. Hina approaches the woman, who looks up to see a smiling goddess.

“I can tell you won’t be chased away too easily by me, right?” She tilts her head and chuckles, already sensing that this woman was befallen with misfortune. “Then I’ll take that misfortune of yours, and then maybe you’ll think otherwise!”

And with that, she spins more and more, absorbing the misfortune until the woman inexplicably found the weight being lifted off her shoulder… before being shooed by the goddess who appeared much more terrifying all of a sudden! She’d run back home and away from the dangerous mountain, and Hina would make her way back up with a satisfied smile.
