A break from social media.

I kept Snapchat and Facebook for my close friends, family, and relatives. Pinterest, because it’s not really somewhere you actually socialize and it’s where I like to spend my free time as I dream of decorating something I probably won’t ever actually do lol. And Tumblr, because nobody I know follows me here. I can escape the world yet still be apart of it. It’s like I don’t exist here. Like a hiding place. Temporary and occasionally people will find you. On here though, I don’t have to worry about who it is. No one I know still has Tumblr lol. Plus, I can be myself and express how I feel without caring. I don’t feel like I have to put as much into it either. It’s just, for me, ya know? And it’s nice to have something for me...

Instagram puts on this social pressure that you have to make your life seem perfect for everyone you have ever met (that you added on there) so it’s as if you’re living the better life out of everyone else and people just make such a big deal out of it. I know I’m ranting now. Sorry. I just realized it was taking over too much of my life and for what reason, lol? Facebook allows me to talk to family and my bestfriend who luckily checks hers for family like I do, so that’s all I need. Twitter fits the same ridiculousness as insta. I don’t need either. I’m less stressed without them. I don’t know why we let them become such a big deal to us.

But I needed to escape people and the apps themselves, so that’s why I deleted them. I’m on my phone less now too and that’s nice. So yeah, a break from social media. I recommend it.
