When will people realize that I require at least 24 hours advance notice of plans or a change in plans?
I'm tired of making plans and having them broken. This is why I stopped talking to people years ago. Maybe I should stop again.
When someone breaks their plans with me
There is no silver in this lining
In fact, there's no lining. I'm sitting here, stressed and sick, happy to be a part of our big happy picture. But no. You're selfish, just so incredibly selfish. You want every fucking thing and the worst part is, YOU GET EVERY FUCKING THING. Meanwhile I'm here, trying to help you out. Trying to be the good friend that listens and talks and figures things out for you. But nothing is gonna add up to anything if you just turn around and stab me and him in the back. What do you expect now? That he's gonna accept you back with open arms? You're selfish. So so so selfish and you only think of yourself. I'm done trying to be silver.
im getting really tired of people breaking plans with me.
"Something came up"
Picture it, Friday night 2012
You and your: significant other, guy you met online, guy friend, dude from the bar or bum from the curb have made plans. You’re a little excited, thinking about it during the day, even started putting an outfit together in your head. You may or may not of spoken to them briefly earlier in the day (you gave the bum some change earlier so he should be down). Hey, you’re not “CRAZY” so you are not going to harass him all day about your plans. You shouldn’t even have to right? But it begins to get late, if you are like me and not a harasser you may send the “What’s up?” text trying to confirm to no answer. So you are left waiting with no answer. Plans have come and gone.
This scenario can play out different ways for different people depending on who both parties are. Some examples:
Girl psycho- whichever guy - girl pops up at house, after she called 100 times.
“Ain’t nobody got time for that”- online guy/dude from bar- girl ignores further communication from guy
Me - boyfriend- “We need to talk”
Girl – Bum – “Dude had the nerve to try to sell me another news paper after he didn’t respond. You will never get my loose change again!”
Either way this all could have been avoided if said person just let the you know what’s up. “I’m running late” or “Something came up and I have to take care of this” or whatever. But these days it seems like guys don’t even know how to initiate the excuse.
What is it about consideration when it comes to men? I mean I have met all types of guys, the good, the asshole, and the ugly. On a scale of jerk to prince charming, they all have flaws and attributes that put one above the other. Nobody is perfect, but most seem to fall short when it comes to consideration.
I am a simple girl; very understanding but I do have a pet peeve. My friends and I call it “The Pet Peeve”, because it keeps coming up from guys of all walks of life; in all types of relationships quite often. Make plans, time comes for the plans, guy has disappeared until hours later or the next day. Is it so hard to call or text? We are in the age of multiple avenues of communication and you couldn’t let me know something? It’s even worse when first contact is made after "The Peeve" and dude acts like nothing happened.
Um excuse me? Didn’t we have plans? All you had to do was call, text, Facebook, tweet, Skype, Oovoo, email, text-a-gram, Instagram a pic of whatever it was that will keep you from making this date! This can be as minor as him running late and not saying anything while you have been sitting (if already dressed lawd help him <- another peeve). You would have waited or not gotten dressed at all If he had just SAID SOMETHING. It can be as bad as not speaking until the next day which, if I just started talking to you, is grounds for dismissal…
I had a time with my guy where his phone was broken(to be clear we had plans), and he just let it ride like that. Left me waiting, didn’t contact me till the next day. During said time I went through my phases of:
Anger- This ***** can’t call?!
Worry- Omg something must be wrong because he couldn’t possibly just leave me waiting.
Imagination running wild-What if he got into an accident and is now unconscious in the hospital while I am over here sending these crazy text. Now I feel bad.
Anger- Pft, whatever if I don’t hear from him in an hour we are broken up.
When we finally did reconnect... I. Was. Livid. Yes, your phone was out of service but if it was me I would have been doing all types of things to get in contact with him, so he wouldn't be waiting on me. What is so hard about that? It’s even worse when you could have made contingency plans… I would have gone to Karaoke if I would have known you were gonna let me down...Gosh, now whose gonna sing tipsy "Darling Nikki"?! *Sigh*
It's not checking in, it's being considerate. One time pass next time, we talk, after that I'm done because by then you clearly don't respect me or my time. And if were just started talking, heh, I probably didn't even answer the next day.
So im really just at a loss.
I don't know what to do anymore. What to think. Everything I thought I knew was thrown out the window earlier this week. I realized that as hard as I've been trying, I still love my ex. My boyfriend and I have been fighting more lately. Partially because of that and partially because he just doesn't seem to put me very high on his scale of importance. Take tonight for example. We've been fighting a lot this week so I was under the impression that we'd get to spend the evening together, you know, just reconnect and enjoy being around eachother. He ended up having to work later than expected, then told me he was coming over when he got off...two hours later he finally shows up. He stays til about 830 and for most of it keeps falling asleep next to me. He leaves to grab his laptop from his friends house and returns only for me to tell him that our friend just called saying hes got tickets to an EDM event that was tonight. So instead of saying sorry but I need to spend quality time with my girlfriend, he says oh well I guess I have to go (not exactly in those words, but that was the basic gist of it). He tells me I should come too. Mind you, he is well aware that there is not even 10 dollars in my bank account, earlier this week he paid for me to eat, and earlier this evening he bought me some groceries. So NO....I can't exactly go with you, seeing as though I don't have 20 for a ticket. So he goes. And now I'm sitting here alone. Sometimes when I'm angry I can be a bit of a bitch so I sent him a text and said I hope it was worth it. I also asked if hes enjoying himself. You know what his response was? "I wish i was there with you." Well no shit sir. But you made your choice, and tonight, it wasn't me. You better hope I don't follow your example.
