In New Zealand, we moved to COVID-19 alert level 1 on Tuesday in which life can get as normal as it can be in a situation of global pandemic. It is such a relief, alhamdulillah! People all over the world are acknowledging Jacinda Ardern's dedicated efforts which eventually led the country to this point in such a short span of time. And fairly so, her hard work paid off. People in Pakistan are also doing the same. I received some messages in which people said that they want to borrow her for Pakistan so that she can play her role in eliminating the virus from there. Surely her leadership skills are applaudable but you know what she said in her last press conference? "THANK YOU NEW ZEALAND". She acknowledged the common man for supporting her throughout the difficult time, for listening to her when she asked them to STAY HOME, STAY SAFE. She used the word 'TEAM' for a population of 5M because Kiwis acted together in their collective interests. Had they not listened to her, the situation would've been different. So, the point I want to make here is, it's not the sole responsibility of a PM (or the government) to take measures to eradicate the virus from Pakistan. COMMON MAN needs to listen to what they are being told (or may be people in Pakistan think they're too VIP). We have been listening 'We are in this together', yes we are. But we need to take steps to come out of it together too. Now people will say, it's easier to manage a population of 5M in contrast to Pakistan whose population is almost 42 times the population of NZ. It definitely is, but I think it's more about mind set rather than numbers. To address the poverty issue, again, people need to work together as a team. BE KIND. Identify and help the people in your neighbourhood, who need support. Mind it, If you are not concerned about your own wellbeing than no JACINDA in the world can help you, seriously. Indeed, Allah will not change the condition of a people until they change what is in themselves. (Quran [13:11]) Every individual's role is VITAL as every piece in a puzzle is!
