Take a deep breath
I hated my middle school chair teacher. Loved the class, hated the teacher (for several reasons, though the main one is that she used me as a [good] example several times and made me run warm ups one time which led to a panic attack that lasted the entire period). But, that's where I learned one of my favorite vocal warm ups. I'm not sure what it's called, but I still remember it word-for-word.
It can be sung in a unison or as a round in as many parts as you want. It works both as vocal and breathing warm ups. I'll have to remember the exact notes when it's not 2am, but it starts on Middle C
One finger, one thumb, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, keep moving to chase the blues away *clap x2*
One finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, keep moving to chase the blues away *clap x2*
One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, keep moving to chase the blues away *clap x2*
One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, keep moving to chase the blues away *clap x2*
One finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, blow your horn, toot toot, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, blow your horn, toot toot, keep moving; one finger, one thumb, one arm, one leg, stand up, sit down, blow your horn, toot toot, keep moving to chase the blues away *clap x2*
*drum roll on laps* To chase the blues away!
#6 is optional, but a lot of fun, especially in a round
And the accompanying actions are right in the tin! Point your finger, your thumb, your arm, and leg when it says. Same with standing and sitting. When it says to blow your horn, but your fist in the air by your head and pull down on "toot toot" Y'know when you see a semi and you want them to honk their horn? It's the same motion
The goal was to get through each verse without breathing anywhere but between verses. It's a lot of fun
