Considering both Shadi and Cecelia are ghosts it would be fun if Cecelia could chat to him at some point, but only Shadi can see her. I think they'd check in sometimmmmessssss.

I want to post more of my Yu-Gi-Oh! Art but it's tied to a very specific set of headcanons I have, and I thought a context post might be useful. Not that I'm expecting anyone to read it it's just nice to get my thoughts down!

Anyway, I've put it under a readmore along with some more doodles (annnnnnd more shadi!)

Basically, Pegasus's immediate "lets go to Egypt" after Cecelia died always felt a bit strange to me as a first course of action. (I get it, it makes sense in context of bringing a loved one back but still). And Cecelia was unfortunately so wasted as a character as a "Miscellaneous woman who dies" so I figured she'd be a fine blank slate to mold into something else.

I think it would be fun if she'd had an interest in Egyptology of her own accord, perhaps specifically in their powers of resurrection - maybe has an inkling that the items exist. I'd like her to have been on digs and whatnot - Pegasus as well seems like he would've been somewhat directionless before he started working on Duel Monsters, so probably just followed her to Egypt to have something to do. I like to think Cecelia is working on a PHD thesis or something. Anyway, I'm shoehorning Shadi in there somewhere because I like him and think he should've gotten to meet both of them.

I think eventually Cecelia would go to Kul Elna on her own and maybe take one of the items trials, and fails. Prompting Shadi to have to kill her as he does with the museum curator in Season 0 (The colonialist legacies of western Egyptology studies don't really endear you to wanting to give ppl items anyway). Also, it's more interesting than her just dying of a miscellaneous disease, to me, anyway. Not that Pegasus would be aware it was Shadi, he thinks she passed away of an accident or something along those lines. I haven't ironed out details.

However, if her research did touch on the Millennium items I think it would be interesting if the reason she failed the trial to be the barer of one is because the gods saw better use for her as a recordkeeper, similar to Shadi, and granted her a degree of the same purpose to fulfill like he has. If he's the one who keeps track of the items, maybe she's supposed to make a note of their history. That's all very self indulgent on my part though.

Pegasus then goes to Egypt partially for the sake of remembering her and partially because if her research was focused on death and burial, he latches onto one thing that he thinks might be able to bring her back. Pegasus then has a "oh YOU again!" similar to that one Battle City episode with Shadi, prompting him to follow Shadi down that tomb and receive the eye because LBR Shadi wouldn't explain anything.

I think that lends a fun little extra bit of guilt to the twisted/portraitshipping dynamic. Plus double ghosts!
