LOCATION : THE TOWN.
" there's really no one here ... " florian said with a resigned sigh as he walked out of the fifth house on his side of the town. there were more buildings for him to investigate, but the eerie quiet of the seaside town, broken only by the sound of crashing waves and strong winds, already gave him the answer he needed. whatever had happened to this place—be it magic or a force he didn't yet understand—it had taken everyone who lived there. florian could only hope that they had met the same fate as he had, and were simply living an idyllic life they might be taking for granted.
" do you have any idea where we are? " florian asked, his gaze lifting to regard the man who had come with him. back in their old life, he only remembered him as a fisherman and nothing more. even though they lived in a small town, learning everyone's story was still something he was working on, and he knew there were some people who preferred not to be known at all. " if i were to hazard a guess, you know waters and islands like this very well, am i right? "

one would have thought after his awkward exchange early that evening with matai-- just running up and hugging him despite not having that kind of relationship with the man-- that bowen would have learned to keep his hands to himself for now but after getting off a rickety, small little boat that some stranger had been kind enough to steer to get him off the smaller island of motunui and onto the larger, main island where the castle was-- as bowen stepped onto the docks, his hair still a mess and some of his buttons in the wrong place from hasitly trying to get dressed after, his face lit up again as he saw someone else he recognized. lisandro. running up to the man, he tripped over a notched piece of wood in the dock, but managed to keep himself from falling as he practically threw himself at the older man; wrapping his arms tight around him and hugging him close. “i didn't think this night could get any better but i'm so happy to see you mr. marinero.” he was practically giggling as he tightened his arms around the man, a blush dusting over his cheeks as he settled against a body he knew well only to find himself a bit overwhelmed as his senses seemed to go into overdrive now that he was a shifter again; his head feeling light as he took a deep breath and inhaled the other man's scent.
“it really is good to see you lisandro. so good.” he mumbled as he finally released the man from his grip with a soft, embarrassed smile and a nod of his head as space settled between them again. “it's not really the homecoming you're used too,” he teased as he began to chew on his lower lip, “but it still feels like i haven't seen you in weeks; years even.” it was in that moment that he realized, as he tried to blink his way through the jumbled memories he had as bambi, he didn't recognize lisandro from that life; from that time. but he didn't care. he liked the man and that was enough. what was the worst that could happen? "how are you holding up sir?"
