How we found out your gender!
Hi baby! Today was a BIG day for ur Abah and me! We had a detailed scan of you! Your Abah, grandma (my mum) joined me in the scanning room. I asked your grandma along as I feel she should be part of seeing u as she has been really supportive during my pregnancy. You will understand how much a mother's sacrifice is when you grow up. :) Anyway, I feel happy that both your Abah and your grandma could join because they are two very important people in your life. Remember that, ok baby? Your grandad drove us to and from the hospital. :) We feel so happy to see you growing well! Alhamdulillah! So far, doctor said all are normal, so great job baby at growing up! Mummy is very proud of u! I'm sure your Abah too! :) There was one thing on our minds when we were doing the detailed scan... Finding out your gender! It started by the Dr doing the X-ray checking on your skull, brains, ur heart, blood flow, blood vessels, hands, arms, kidneys, legs. Alhamdulillah, you were all good. I still don't understand why the gynae won't explain one by one on the results. Like how big ur head or other parts of your body, or your size. Oh well, but I guess what is important is that you are well and safe in there. Anyway, so during the scan, I asked the Dr doing the X-ray on what was your gender and.... Well, lets just say your Abah had a HUGE SMILE on his face when the Dr announced. I'm so happy that your dad got what he wanted. I'm happy whatever gender you are, as long as no matter what, you are the best gift from Allah swt and I won't be choosy. I showed your X-ray to your grandad and he said by the looks he knew you were a ..... And he was right! :) But for sure, shopping for your stuffs will be easier now cos we can easily decide on the colour! Hehe! I also showed ur X-ray to your other grandma (your Abah's mum) through Whatsapp to guess but she got it wrong. Hahaha. But I told your dad to call her personally to tell her if she's right or wrong. Haha. Anyway, back to during the scan just now, although I reminded you many times to co-operate, you were in a curled up position where your head is at the top and your butt is resting at my pelvic area. They call it the breech position. So it was quite hard for the doctor to scan and check on your spine. She had to stop scanning and make me walk around. Although I did walked, you still didn't turn... I had to keep telling u to turn. Tried to cough, asked ur Abah to tell u to turn too... The doctor almost gave up and wanted me to come next week but lo and behold, I lifted my butt abit and u suddenly moved and showed us your beautiful spine! Good baby! Mummy is really very proud of you for listening to mummy. :) Anyway, I hope you won't stay comfortable in that breech position ok baby? I want you to turn. So that you are ready for natural labour. Please turn ok? Don't get too comfortable there. I will try to do more swimming and yoga stretches so you will turn and insyaAllah, more Sujud. You have to play your part too to turn ok baby? It'll be good to have you naturally, so mummy can feel what other mummies feel and be stronger too when mummy grow old. So be a good, well behaved baby ok? Anyway, thank you for co-operating and showing us your gender. Mummy and daddy are very happy and very thankful. Right this moment you are kicking around in my tummy and moving. Keep on doing that wonderful job you are doing because you are really making me happy with your movements! Love you so much baby! We'll catch up in a months time during my next doctor visit. This time, mummy will be trying a new doctor. Her name is Dr Suzana. Hopefully she is better, as mummy's main concern is to have Muslim doctor to be the one who welcome you to the world. :) I love you baby. Catch up soon and keep on moving! *kisses!
Frank Breech Position
Fetal malpresentation occurs in about 4% of all term pregnancies. The most common malpresentation by far is breech presentation, where the fetal longitudinal lie is oriented parallel to the long axis of the uterus and the buttocks are near the cervix. There are 3 types of breech presentation: frank (hips are flexed and the legs are extended), complete (hips and legs are flexed), and footling or incomplete (incomplete flexion of one or both hips).
