I see the term European Burmese.
Is that the version in the UK or the other version?
What's the difference with the two types?
The American Burmese is recognized in a limited amount of colors - those being black-based and chocolate-based sepia and their dilutes. This version also tends to have more round eyes and close-set ears with a slightly heavier build.
The European Burmese is recognized in all the same colors as the American Burmese as well as red and tortoiseshell, which was introduced through European lines years after the breeds recognition - hence the name.
These Burmese tend to have a more defined brow giving a stern, sort of grumpy expression with more wide-set ears and a slightly lighter build although both versions are generally compact, solid looking cats.
