I’ve been thinking about how birth happens for sparklings with no physical bodies, I’d imagine it would be a lot easier?

Newborns feed directly off their creators spark which will be slightly modified to accommodate something feeding off it, they also can move freely on their parents armor, if placed on the ground they can’t move and will eventually fizzle out of existence if left alone long enough

Sparklings grow from a ball of electricity to a ball of electricity with limbs that can move without their parents, eventually forming a soft frame when they’re old enough, that armor then flakes off over time for bigger armor or they do it all at once, like a crab (I still haven’t decided). Once they shed into their final size it is totally safe for them to modify their frame

I think Starscream would use something like that, from what I remember the sparklings would hide in the plating of their parents until they get older cause they’re so small and squishy, but Starscream has missiles under his boobs, so when the sparkling is burrowing under his armor he’s like ‘damn I have to find some way to keep this thing from blowing us both up.’ Megatron has a black hole in him, he knows sparklings don’t go deep enough to reach internal weaponry like that, this is mostly so he won’t get toooo attached

Megatron would probably be offended at it at first but keeping something under your armor 24/7 is gonna get annoying so he ends up using it lmao
