Okay but imagine being Breisis. Putting aside the whole being a female slave in an Extremely misogynistic society can you imagine having a front row seat to the whole Patrochilles relationship like she did? I mean you have this great relationship with Patroclus, you're friendzoned but it's whatever, he's just not into girls so you get over it. He is this kind, sensitive, fun person to be around who takes an interest in those his society disregards (like you and your fellow slaves) and spends his days helping people. And his husband is a fucking peacock. A Peacock with a knife! And you're just ya know around the camp and he's always strutting around with his chest out and his stupid ass shiny helmet trying to be so cool and genteel and he is so Full of Himself you just want to scream but you could NEVER say anything about it to Patroclus because the two of them are clearly head over heels in love and it would heartwarming if Achilles wasn't such a dick. And then of course Patroclus talks about his relationship to you and it's always, "Achilles is so cool, so handsome so great" and your brain is running in circles because how could someone as unassuming as Patroclus not see how much of an asshole Achilles is? And every night you're there. Watching Achilles sit on Patroclus' lap feeding him figs or some shit and you're just like "right in front of my salad?????". Every other week you see Patroclus asking Achilles to grab a new slave and then you watch as Achilles continues to do what he always does which is fuck off to the battlefield and pay 0 attention to anyone but himself and Patroclus while Patroclus does all the hard work of getting the new girl feeling comfortable and safe. And then a few days later he's all "wow I just love that Achilles saves all these girls he's such a great catch I'm so lucky" and you're fucking ready to explode. And this is just how it for like 9 years until one day in a particularly on-brand move you could have predicted in your sleep Achilles decides he doesn't actually care if the entire Greek Army is collateral damage in his quest for glory. Patroclus finally says "hmm perhaps Achilles has a flaw" and you want to go "A Flaw A. Flaw??? As in One SingUlAR flaw?" But instead you try to be supportive and all the while you're thinking yourself "well gee maybe this is good maybe Patroclus is finally waking up" but then you blink and suddenly he's wearing Achilles' armor and going into battle. Like??? How does one cope???
