Brenda Wright

Brenda embarked upon the arts journey approximately twelve years ago by enrolling in various beginner level courses (watercolour, drawing, oils, and more recently acrylics). Over the years she has steadily progressed in her pursuit of artistic excellence, and although basic instruction was invaluable, Brenda has discovered there is no better way to develop artistic ability than to “just do it”- put in the hours.

“Your ‘inner artist’ (or more specifically, your spirit) will lead you to follow your instincts.” Recently, Brenda has proven the point with the introduction of what she calls The Prophetic Arts or “art with a message”. As she stepped out in obedience and faith, seeking divine inspiration, her artwork has taken on another dimension.

Brenda states, “The painters’ instinct has always been strong within me, but it wasn’t until mid-life that I found the time to test this inner prompting. It is amazing to produce a beautiful piece and discover the ‘vision’ that finds expression when paint is applied to paper.” As a Christian, she believes that creativity is a mark of the Creator’s image within. Brenda believes now that she has finally discovered at least one of the purposes for her existence on this earth: to share her faith through artistic works of art.

Breaking Mirrors - Part One

The sun just barely rose above the horizon, and Kylie duck down into the shade of a tree. Her hand bore a slight burn from the rays. She bit her lip, pressing herself closely against the rough bark. She dug her nails into her arms, staying as perfectly still as she could; not even daring to take a breath.

Damaris, however, held her stake tightly in her hands. The sun didn't bother humans, and she knew she could corner this monster now that it was out. The scent of burning, dead flesh floated through the air. Damaris snapped her head towards a large oak tree.

"Gotcha."

Damaris sprinted, and Kylie ran into the sun, ignoring the small burns growing on her skin. Her long blonde hair flowing behind her, her bright red eyes full of fear. Damaris, however, was on the hunt. She longed to see vampire blood flow through her fingers and into the street. She loathed the monsters.

Kylie reached the door of a school, locking it shut and slumping against the cold, smooth metal. It soothed the burns on the back of her arms and neck. Damaris banged on the doors, dropping her stake and yelling in frustration.

Kylie was safe. For the time being.

So, this was a little thing I did for me and a few friends, and it's gotten big on my facebook. I wanted to post it on here and see what happens, I guess. It's on my DA, too.  This does belong to me, so back off.
