_______________ I’ve been getting more and more into this ship, and Liam’s confirmation of Caleb’s feelings both warmed and broke my heart. Today I was listening to “Satisfied” from Hamilton and suddenly started to change some lyrics in my head, as if it was Caleb singing about Jester. 

So I decided to go ahead and rewrite the whole song <3

This was really fun to do and I’m quite happy with it, I hope you like it as well! If any of you would like to cover this, feel free to do so (just let me know, I’d like to hear it!) ^^

Breakdown Gen and Brett!! 🌸❤

How did they they meet? (Fun fact I literally had to check my own writing bc I couldn’t remember whoops lol) So Genevieve and Brett met when Satomi took Gen into her pack. Brett was the first person at the door to greet them, helping Gen get settled in.

Who developed romantic feelings first? Brett was instantly drawn to Genevieve, even though he tried to push it away and focus on helping her as a friend.

Who is their biggest “shipper?” Definitely Brett’s little sister Lori!

When did they have their first kiss and under what circumstances?It’s right after Genevieve gets back from Mexico. Brett realises how worried he was about her because he had feelings for her, and he was scared of losing her.

Who confessed their feelings first? Technically Brett!

What was their first official date? They never really have a proper first date, just a lot of little adventures when they manage to break away from pack meetings :)

How do they feel about double dates/group dates? Genevieve gets too anxious for group dates so they tend to prefer their alone time.

What do they do in their down time? Brett is just happy being with Genevieve and sitting around reading together, or letting her read while he practices guitar or works out.

What was the first meeting of parents as an official couple like? Well both of them lost their parents so that’s a non-issue rip.

What was their first fight over and how did they get past it? It’s over Gen wanting to go to Mexico with Scott’s pack. He only let it go because Satomi agreed to let Genevieve leave so he didn’t get a choice. And they got over it by basically not discussing what it really meant. So they didn’t really get past it at all whoops.

Which one is more easily made jealous? Brett without a doubt.

What is their favourite thing to get to eat? They often eat at Satomi’s house so they eat whatever is around but they also love sharing a midnight snack together.

Who’s the cuddly one? What their favourite cuddling position? Gen is the cuddlier one, always reaching for Brett when he’s near her. 

Are they hand holders? Yes absolutely. Brett knows that holding Gen’s hand keeps her calm and also it makes him feel warmer too.

How long do they wait before sleeping together for the first time? What’s the circumstances? Too early for that right now!

Who tops? They are still just (Brett) lil teens! 

What’s the worst fight they’ve ever gotten into? Currently it would be the fight that led to their breakup when Genevieve accused Brett of coddling her and liking her just because she needed protecting, which he vehemently disagreed with. But their worst fight is yet to come ;)

Who does the shopping and the cooking? Brett because Genevieve would just end up buying all junk food and sweets.

Which one is more organized and prone to tidiness? Definitely Genevieve because she’s still scared about mess and getting in trouble. And Brett is a walking stereotype of a messy teenage boy.

Who proposes? It would probably be Brett :)

Do they have joined Bachelor/Bachelorette parties or separate? Brett would have his own thing while Ari drags Gen off to party!

Who is the best man/maid of honour? Any other groomsmen or bridesmaids? Ahh I have ideas but they involve big spoilers :P

Big Ceremony or Small? Probably small :)

Do they have a honeymoon? If so, where? Anywhere but Beacon Hills!

Do they have children? How many? They have one son Christian! He’s a broody little wolf but they love him anyway :)

“Shut up. I don’t want to hear another word from your mouth.” For Brett and Gen??

Genevieve stared at Brett, wild eyed and well aware of how terrifying she looked right now. If anything, it was clear by the way he was staring back at her. He was in his typical warning stance, ready to defend himself, ready for a fight. Ready to fight her.

“You let them die,” Genevieve said quietly, her words slow and deliberate as she let the truth hang between them, waiting for him to deny it. 

But he didn’t.

He couldn’t.

“You know how we work, Gen. You know this pack,” Brett said, his voice matching her level of intensity. “We protect ourselves. We protect each other,” he explained, as if that fixed anything. As if that explained the cruelty of his inaction, the carelessness in the way he had turned his back on her as she’d reached out with bloodied hands.

“You protect each other? Then why not protect them for me? How could you just sit there idly when I needed you?” The words were tumbling out of Genevieve’s lips now as she felt her heart clenching in her chest, anger and grief threatening to swallow her up. 

“Gen- I-” Brett tried to speak, but Gen shook her head.

“Shut up. I don’t want to hear another word from your mouth,” Genevieve said sharply. She felt her teeth sharpening too, her eyes flashing a cool golden yellow as she struggled to keep control over her body. 

“Tell Satomi I won’t be home tonight. And if she asks, you can tell her why.” 

Without waiting for a response, Genevieve turned away, marching off to mourn, alone.

“did you think i forgot?” brett and gen!

Genevieve had been sitting on the front porch for almost an hour before anyone found her. And course it had to be Brett, of all people. Even Jack and his dumb blunt comments would’ve been better, but instead it was Brett who walked up the front lawn of Satomi’s property, all sad eyes and longing. He didn’t have the right to look at her like that, and yet here he stood with his hands shoved deep into his pockets as he watched her quietly. 

“You’re leaving,” he said finally, his eyes flicking to the duffel bag sitting beside Genevieve. “I’m glad you came to say goodbye.”

Genevieve frowned slightly, tilting her head up to study him. “Of course. I said I’d see you one last time. Did you think I forgot?” she asked.

“I guess I just hoped you’d change your mind.” Brett’s eyes were crinkled slightly, the ghost of a hopeful smile lingering on his lips. 

Genevieve inhaled slowly, glancing down at the bag, remembering how painful it had been to pack it this time. “I don’t have a choice, Brett,” she replied. “I have to go. They need me,” she said softly, looking back up at him and hoping he could hear the words she didn’t have the energy to add.

Brett nodded, understanding. “Of course. But what if we need you too?” 

“Your pack will be fine. You were fine before I arrived and you’ll be fine when I leave,” Genevieve said as she pulled herself up to stand, still shorter than Brett even when she was several steps higher.

“I meant me.” Brett said after a beat, shrugging his shoulders. “But you’re right. They need you more and you can help them. Just...just be careful.”

Silence lingered between them before Brett finally leaned forward, pressing a gentle kiss to Genevieve’s lips, possibly for the last time. Genevieve let her eyes drift shut, keeping them tightly closed as she leaned forward, letting the kiss linger a moment before she felt Brett pull away. She let her eyes stay shut as she listened to his footsteps disappear, leaving her alone again, wondering if she’d made the right choice after all.

The bedroom Satomi had set up for Genevieve was significantly larger than any room the small wolf had ever slept in. It was almost too big, too much empty space and too much room for her wild thoughts. Genevieve was almost certain the spare room had been given to her out of pity, like most things she’d been given in her life. 

But this bedroom was too big. Especially tonight. Genevieve huddled up against the headboard of the new and unfamiliar bed, knees drawn tightly to her chest as she let out a heavy sigh, the anxiety of the last few days still refusing to leave her body. 

“Hey, you okay?” 

Genevieve jumped slightly at the sound of Brett’s voice, her eyes widening more than usual as she turned to look up at the tall boy. He was leaning against the doorframe, eyes crinkled slightly in concern as he gazed at her. 

“Yeah, I’m fine,” Genevieve said but even she barely believed the words falling from her lips. “Just tired.” 

Brett nodded slowly, his eyes still a little disbelieving as he watched her. “Well the rest of the pack is heading off now so I guess I’m leaving now too.”

Genevieve nodded silently, her eyes dropping back to the edge of the bed as she hugged her knees a little tighter. She could hear Brett’s heartbeat, quick with nerves. At least she wasn’t the only one feeling nervous and out of place now. 

As Brett went to leave, Genevieve felt her own heartbeat stutter, the sight of him leaving again causing her to flashback to their last argument. “Wait, Brett-” she cut off, watching as Brett froze, his back to her. “I….I just..Please stay with me tonight. I don’t want to be alone,” Genevieve continued finally, inwardly cringing at the uncertainty in her tone.

“Genny…” Brett turned to face her, an unreadable expression in his eyes now. “I don’t know if that’s a good idea…Not after everything we said.”

“Please, just for tonight. I know what I said…” Genevieve trailed off, blinking away the tears threatening to spill over her cheeks. “But right now I really don’t want to be alone.” 

Brett studied her for a moment, lips pursed as the two wolves locked eyes. Finally he let out a slow exhale, nodding as he moved towards her, climbing onto the bed beside her. “Just for tonight,” he said, pulling her into his arms just like he used to, his warmth automatically calming the bubble of nerves running through Genevieve’s veins. “Just for tonight,” Brett repeated, but Genevieve wasn’t sure who he was convincing now. She didn’t mind though. As long as she could have one more night of ignorance, one last night before reality could sink its claws back in.

Heey! I've got a question about Genevive (i don't know if I spelled well) but how she could react about what happened to Brett in the last episode ? (personnally, it breaks my heart 😭😭) (i'm reading the chapter seven right now but I read somewhere that Genny date(d) Brett, right?)

Ahh yes I had so many thoughts on Genevieve when I saw what happened to poor Brett so thanks for messaging me about it!! Brett and Gen have a very sweet dynamic which you’ll definitely see more of as you keep reading (they aren’t dating yet but but they’re getting there!), but Genevieve would be absolutely devastated to lose him, especially after all he’s done for her and how hard he has fought to keep her safe. It would definitely break her heart for sure! I’m still undecided on if I will be following the season 6 storyline so Brett may have a chance in my fic but we’ll have to wait and see…
