Thinking about how it's the Rise and FALL of Sanctuary Moon and how it's the TRAGEDY of Romeo and Juliette
Are you 'covered in your siblings blood' in a Tachonis or Nayar way?
If anyone wants to make an animatic of Mayali Nayar to Phantom Limb by Everybody's Worried About Owen, I'll give you your hearts 15th most desire or something
every time a trans man who does not want to be called a twink gets called a twink I will personally go out into the world and rend 1 parked car to shreds with my teeth. cut it out
walk with me for a moment. let's think for a sec. I'm not upset but I do want people to understand. do you think assigning a label associated with feminine features, hairlessness, skinniness/lack of muscle tone, and high pitched voices is something that most trans men would feel comfortable being associated with? why or why not?
of COURSE there are trans men who don't mind it, or trans men who actively enjoy being called a twink. but I am not hairless by choice. I WANT fat and muscles and body hair and a deep voice. and a lot of trans men that get called twinks DO HAVE THESE THINGS, yet they get called "twink" anyway. why do you think that might be?
it's okay if you've done this in the past. maybe just check in before you call your friend or acquaintance something with so many specific, potentially disheartening associations!
I wonder if the inverse occurs with trans women getting called "butch" too. because there are many wonderful butch trans women!!! but if you call trans women "butches" for traits like short hair or body hair despite otherwise feminine presentation, maybe think about why that is? is she really a butch? or is that just her body? just ask first!
nonbinary people too. are they really "masc presenting" or is that just their body? are they really "fem presenting" or is that just their body? let's all try to be a bit more cognisant of the language we use to describe the trans people in our lives, yeah? [: it's worth thinking about. don't worry yourself into a hole about it, of course! but it's something to check every now and then.
This is how Platform Decay went, right?
CeCe Rogers on Facebook writes: "Two Black Tennessee lawmakers were physically escorted out of chambers this week while Republicans quietly held a hearing to approve gerrymandered maps that would eliminate the state's only majority-Black congressional district.
No referendum. No special election. No public vote.
Because they know what happens when voters actually get a say — just look at Virginia, where the people spoke so loudly that Republicans had to drag the courts in to override them.
This isn't new. During Reconstruction, Black Americans held more congressional seats than at any point in the prior 90 years of American history. And white supremacists spent the next several decades tearing that down, through gerrymandering, poll taxes, and voter intimidation.
150 years later, the same tools. Different suits.
The audacity of escorting Black lawmakers out of their own chambers while dismantling Black political representation, and then telling us the courts aren't political, is breathtaking. These are the same courts they're counting on to make it stick.
This is a coordinated, multi-front assault on Black Americans. And we need to say it exactly that plainly."
"This is sacrilegious," she said 10 minutes before faking her own death and resurrection.

Occtis: Wait, so your sister risked her life to save you even though you were on opposite sides?
Azune: We promised to protect each other. We're family. Your siblings would—
Occtis, who just helped decapitate his cousin: Nope.
that was a genuine correction. that is literally not what a microaggression is. i didn't even word it rudely, you're the one being an asshole now. at this point it sounds to me like you just want to be self-righteous.
Instead of answering the person who asked why the photo was in b&w in a reasonable and knowledgeable way, the person I referred to as having a micro-aggressive answer was using sarcasm to make the question asker feel stupid about the question they asked. That's not passive aggression, that's bullying in any direction you want to look at it. They gave a 'mean girl' response because they felt like the question that was asked wasn't worthy to be asked. The second response actually answered the question that was being asked. My original point is that the first response was inappropriate/rude/mean communication and I still stand by that.
i think you mixed up the definition of "microaggression" with "passive aggressive"
Marchers at the San Francisco Gay Day Parade
ph: Marie Ueda | 1977
Image Description: A black and white photograph of two marchers on a street, lined with observers. One carries a sign that reads, “A gay landlord is still a landlord,” interspersed with stars. End ID.
this photo was taken in 1977 so why is it in black and white?
colour camera's had been around for a long time and were very much dominant in the late 1970s?
honestly curious
this photo is in black and white because it was taken in black and white on black and white film. a color version does not exist. black and white film still exists to this day. hope this helps.
Also one answer for why so many famous photos are black and white is because staff shooters for a lot of newspapers, and freelancers who sold most of their work to newspapers, often shot B+W pretty much up to the digital turnover, both for higher fidelity of details in the first place, faster processing (because they could develop at home or in the paper's onsite labs), and because they expected to be printing in black and white eventually anyway.
This is honestly a really good example of a micro-agression answer vs an educational answer
Wheelchairs are rad. It's so awesome that we've developed this technology that lets people who can't walk for extended periods travel regardless. It's especially cool that now there's electric wheelchairs and people who couldn't have pushed themselves in a manual chair are able to have that autonomy and independence in an electric chair. That's absolutely stellar. I know there are problems and limitations and current chairs are not perfect but man there are people who would have been bedbound in the past who are able to travel independently because of wheelchairs and imo that's awesome.
I think anyone who would benefit from using a wheelchair should use one. There shouldn't be a stigma around it. Same with walkers, canes, crutches and scooters. They were invented to make people's lives easier, and we all deserve an easier life.
Also every street and building should be wheelchair accessible, and it's absolutely unreasonable that they're not.
I wonder if Dropout.TV will ever get into improv dance competitions. I could see it being done similar to Karaoke Night or maybe a one-off Game Changer
Or perhaps a special episode of "Make some Moves"
Yessss

The YouTube Jeopardy was fun, but I feel like it was kinda outmatched. I admit I don't know a lot about the other contestants, but Brennan barely counts as a YouTuber or even social media personality imo—he's a researcher, writer, and regular game show contestant. Um, Actually—a huge part of his full-time job—is based off of Jeopardy! I love my communist anarchist gremlin, but I don't think it was a good casting choice with the others.
Weird little fic-universe in my brain where Katie is Brennan's middle school-aged sibling who wants to DM for her friends, so he invites his high school friends, whom he usually DMs for, to be test players
