Hi, Hello - Young K Reincarnation Soulmate Au
Every passing lifetime, you have bits and pieces of memory of your soulmate who you’re destined to meet every reincarnation
They look the same, and usually have a similar personality; some things change though due to different experiences
You usually see your soulmate through dreams, or small ‘deja vu’ like moments
You had your first moment at the age of 16 during an accidental four hour ‘power’ nap
In your dream, you were older than 16, around 25. Your soulmate’s face was blurry and you couldn’t quite make it out, but you could hear his laugh clear as day and see a hint of a smile beneath the blur of your memory.
“Hi,” he says, the excitement and positive nerves evident in his voice
“Hello” you reply with a laugh, and with that short glimpse, you wake up
Wanting to keep the moment to yourself, you decide not to tell anyone about your soulmate
Your reasoning was, well, if you made the choice in this lifetime, you probably made the same one in the last life, so why the hell not?
With every passing week, you get more and more moments of places seeming too familiar though you’ve never been to them before
Passing by a bass guitar in music store with your friend, you can’t help but think that it would look better in the hands of your soulmate
(With a pretty voice like you had heard in your dreams, it wouldn’t be far off to imagine him as a musician)
In a heat-of-the-moment decision, you bought an acoustic guitar and looked online as to where to find lessons
“We could be a two person band,” you joked, poking your soulmate’s crossed leg with your foot, a familiar looking acoustic guitar nestled in your lap and your fingers resting comfortably on its neck. His outline was less blurred, and moreso like you were looking at him through rippling water; he was sat across from you, head tipped back on the edge of the couch seats that you had both chosen the floor over, and a bass guitar in his hands.
“Do you want to be backup or main vocals?” He answered, in which you replied with a dramatic strum, leaning back and sticking your leg up in the air, “I’ll be both”
Once again, your dream faded out to the wonderful sound of his laugh.
Sadly, even though your dream made you pay some money for vocal lessons, you learned that singing wasn’t for you.
(Maybe he had laughed at you in the dream because he knew that you singing was a disaster)
With each passing dream, and every moment of “whoa that reminds me of my soulmate” you slowly get a firmer and firmer grasp on who he is as a person, and you start putting together why you were destined to fall in love with him every lifetime.
He had the prettiest laugh, and a gorgeous smile to match. He liked taking naps just as much as you did, and he had the exact same struggle waking up. And though he was so similar to you, the contrasts in his personality clicked with you almost perfectly.
Unlike most people, you were blessed by being able to move on to a different lifetime in your dreams without having to watch something painful.
Many people around you had described watching their soulmates die, or hearing a knock at the door only to see the downcast faces of soldiers holding a box that could only mean one, horrible, horrible thing.
But, your memory jumped forward
Another, “Hi,” “Hello” and a knowing smile at an all too familiar greeting
And then, one day, you had woken up after an incredible, crystal clear dream. After years of outlines faded around the edges and imagines that only got more blurred the harder you looked, you finally saw him.
And dear god, you were floored
You had never been one to get self conscious when it came to your soulmate; you always found comfort that he had fallen for you in every lifetime as well, but now…
Lets just say you spent a long time on your makeup that morning before heading out the door to work, knowing the clarity of that dream must have meant something.
With your guitar case slung over your shoulder and a nervous hunch to your shoulders, you walked to the music store just down the street. You tugged at your hair, mussed it with your hands, brushed it behind an ear before running your fingers through it again. You pulled up the camera on your phone and checked your makeup; you looked in store windows at your reflection to see if your outfit was unflattering.
In ur mind ur like,, okay hes not going to care!!! You know him ok hes not the type to rely on outward appearances
Biting at your thumb nail, you rounded the corner that lead to the music store-
And you ran into someone head on, and you barely had time to worry about your poor guitar being ruined by its fall on the concrete before the person caught your hand, pulling you to your feet.
“Oh my god, I’m sorry, I wasn’t looking where I was going-”
(you recognized that voice)
You were 100% positive that you were blushing when you looked up to meet his eyes, but you couldn’t hold back a smile when you saw the ecstatic look on his face.
There it was, the signature grin that you had come to know in the past years.
After a moment of silence and taking each other in, he spoke up softly, “Hi”
You hid a delighted laugh behind your hand before you answered happily, “Hello”
