According to the Black Guardian, converting the sixth segment of the Key to Time before the fifth would result in the space-time continuum being ripped apart by a temporal quake (The Destroyer of Delights, Big Finish, 2009).

I’ve encountered Fenric a few times. But when I met him in my seventh incarnation he was finally destroyed. He likes to play chess with real people’s lives. He had many pieces on the board. He called them his wolves. He wanted to poison the seas with a chemical slime that would eventually destroy the entire planet. Fenric even tried to use my allies against me. Ace. She travelled with me. She was a lot like you, actually. To defeat him, I had to do the same. I used his allies against him. And saved Ace from the curse.
Fenric has arranged his pieces well. But he’s still vulnerable.
