Top Shot: Keep Your Balance

Your Shot photographer Narayan Maharjan captured this moment of a migrant Indian laborer stacking bricks by balancing them onto his head at a brick factory in Lalitpur, Nepal. Indian laborers carry 12 to 16 bricks on his head. “That reddish orange dust that is floating around this frame pulled my attention right away when I saw this image,” writes Your Shot producer Matt Adams, who selected this photo for the January 26th, 2018 Daily Dozen. “It’s amazing how many bricks can be balanced by one person and the attention to detail it would take to pull off such a task. Being a brick laborer is a difficult job, I think you captured what it’s like to be in this environment within this photo.” Photograph by Narayan Maharjan
