To fade to black, then fade through that.
Amber Tamblyn, from "Bridgette Andersen"
I wish to remember two of my Gen-X/Xennial contemporaries whose tragic ends are often overshadowed by that of Heather O'Rourke.
Poor Bridgette Andersen and Judith Barsi!
At least Heather O'Rourke died of natural causes and her doctors did all they could to try to save her. But Bridgette's death by drug overdose could have and should have been prevented. And Judith's murder by her own father, after being abused by him all her life? The word "horrific" is too mild to describe it.
I just recently rewatched the Faerie Tale Theatre adaptation of "Hansel and Gretel" where Bridgette played Gretel, and of course I've known Judith's voice since childhood from Ducky in The Land Before Time and Anne-Marie in All Dogs Go to Heaven. Such talented, adorable young actresses who deserved so much better!
I still feel Bridgette Andersen 100% deserved to live and also be a much bigger star than she was - i'd take her in some 1980s girl kid roles over Barrymore or Frye. Heck, she could have played D.J. Tanner in Full House from 1987-95 instead of the God Squad Girl.
I've only seen her in one role, Gretel in Faerie Tale Theatre's adaptation of Hansel and Gretel, but she was excellent there. She did deserve better.
Marriah Bridget "Bridgette" Andersen, 1975 to 1997.
Someone once said, "the light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long." They might have been talking about her.

I've only seen her as Gretel in the Faerie Tale Theatre adaptation of ''Hansel and Gretel'', but she's definitely endearing there. What happened to her is very tragic!
Bridgette Andersen physically reminds me of Shirley Temple. In fact, had they curled Bridgette’s hair, she could’ve starred in a bio-pic about Temple - had they done one in the eighties...
My goodness, you’re absolutely right! I never heard of that actress and had to google her. She even has Temple’s dimple. Her bio is such a sad story, though :(
Tragic Hollywood - Accidental Deaths ( Pt 7 )
Tragic Hollywood – Accidental Deaths ( Pt 7 )
Part 7 of ‘Accidental Deaths’ examines the passing of some performers who unintentionally killed themselves with pills, medication, drugs, alcohol, or whatever other substances they took in doses or combinations that ‘accidentally’ ended their lives. Some appear to be genuinely unlucky outcomes, but others would never have happened if the people affected had not been into drugs in the first…
