Hey buddy! It looks like my last ask got eaten so I'll ask something else, and in shorter fashion: what kind of story are you gonna write next? Have you ever thought about writing an F/F story like Bright Flame or Depravity? I love the series so far!
hallo friend. i replied to your last ask, but i sent a private reply. maybe tumbles did not deliver it.
anyway good question. and the answer, is, well, maybe....
so, like, not that many people read original fic on AO3. And I get that, that’s not what you go there for. And I have been pretty happy with the people I’ve had reading Bright Flame (and Depravity - which is a little less popular, but it’s slightly less tropey). But the hit rate is still quite low and, the fact is, what keeps me writing and excited by a story is getting hits and comments, it really gives me the energy to write more.
As someone who writes M/M and F/F (and some het), I know that F/F is just *way* less popular. And I suspect if I wrote and original F/F I wouldn’t have anyone reading it and I’d get bored and that would be no good for anyone.
HAVING SAID THAT THOUGH. I do have SUCH a good idea for and F/F fic which is to use that old trope of a school bully and a victim having a sort of messed up thing between them. Which I love but have only seen as m/m. And I really want to write it but I’m not sure if I want to make it actually set it a school because that is sleazy as I am an old, so maybe it will be some other terrible institution like the army. And then if it is the army, if might as well be an army in a fantasy world, so why not the Calisto army? And then I need a reason why there would be female soldiers in the Calisto empire...
Anyway, so yeah. I might do one. Not the next one though, that’s about a Blacksmith’s Boy who accidentally becomes part of a warriors tribute of sex slaves.

Thank you friend. I’ve had a great year for fic. I found a new fandom (Ace Attorney) after being fandom homeless for simply ages. And I wrote a ton of fic for it and I read a ton more fic.
I also wrote original fic on AO3 for the first time, something I am ending the year completely obsessed with doing and I will be sure to be doing a lot more of that next year. I loved writing Bright Flame, and loving writing Depravity and I have a third fic in the same universe called (working title)The Tribute.
