Impidimp, Morgrem, and Grimmsnarl Species Guide
-> Impidimp
Impidimps (know as the Wily Pokemon) are the first evolution of this line. While not being considered a baby Pokemon, Impidimps have temporary ‘egg teeth’ which they use to bite out of the egg. These teeth fall out soon after hatching and their permanent teeth replace them. Being part of the human-like egg group, their development is similar to a human child’s.
At 0-4 days they’re relatively helpless and lose their egg teeth, relying entirely on their dads and/or older brothers for food and warmth.

After day 5 they start teething and bite on EVERYTHING. Their eyes are built for low light so they can’t see well in lit spaces and will explore their environment with their mouths. They will chew on twigs, fingers, and even other Impidimps. It’s important to build them a small, dark hiding space for them to rest in so their eyes don’t become strained. By week 3 their permanent fangs will have grown in and will slowly grow out of chewing.
Impidimps, of course, rely on negative emotions as their primary energy source. Frustration is especially delicious, but favorites vary depending on the Impidimp. Anxiety, fatigue, sadness, unease, or dread are also emotions an Impidimp might favor. In the wild, they source these emotions from pranking their brothers and other Pokemon. However, stealing from human houses to frustrate the owners is a myth, but that doesn’t mean they won’t chew on your belongings.
Because of their affinity for negative emotion most would assume this line are solitary or unpleasant to be around, but this cannot be further from the truth. Impidimps themselves are extremely social and stay in groups ranging from 3 to 6. In fact, they will pack bond with anything (human or Pokemon) and become anxious when alone. They should always have another pokemon to play with so they do not become lonely and destructive.
-> Morgrem
Morgrems (known as the Devious Pokemon) are the second evolution in this species line. It’s at this stage the line’s signature hair becomes a noticeable feature. While they don’t have fine control like Grimmsnarl, Morgrem hair is still prehensile — allowing for their signature move, False Surrender. Apart from battles, Morgrems also use their hair as an extra limb.

Caring for this hair is extremely important to these Pokemon, for both practical and vanity reasons. Morgrems, and Grimmsnarls, take personal grooming very seriously as healthy hair is strong hair, and strong hair means more powerful attacks. This constant grooming makes them some of the cleanliest (and most dramatic) Pokemon.
It’s not uncommon for Morgrems to test out their strength at this stage and will want to battle other Pokemon more often. They will move away from negative energy as their main energy supply and begin to develop a large appetite for physical nutrition. This will cause a boost in their growth and while Morgrems average at ~2 feet tall, some have been known to reach between 2 1/2 and 3 ft. In addition, they become far less energetic than Impidimps.
Despite these changes, they are still bonded to their pack. Morgrems are much less clingy than Impidimps as they explore on their own, but they remain close with their families, which can be massive.
The Impidimp line typically form large family groups (sometimes called a tribe or a ‘trouble’) consisting of brothers, fathers, uncles, cousins, and grandfathers.
However, Morgrems still enjoy tricks so it’s important to outline what are and aren’t acceptable pranks.
-> Grimmsnarl
Grimmsnarl (know as the Bulk Up Pokemon) is the third and final evolutionary stage of this species. These gruff, territorial Pokemon are kings of their forests. They’re also massive drama queens. They’re extremely vain, and for good reason. Their thick, shiny hair covers most of their bodies, enhancing their strength and mobility as they can easily climb trees with the aid of their prehensile hair. They bathe regularly to maintain hair health and to get rid of anything that may have snagged into their locks.
(I recommend this brand for baths ^)
In the wild, the stronger the hair, the more respect a Grimmsnarl commands within their communities. Battling is a great way for them to show off or impress potential partners.
Never, under any circumstances, should you mess with their hair without explicit consent. They WILL put you in the hospital.
Grimmsnarl are territorial Pokemon and rely mostly on physical food instead of emotions at this stage. Unlike appearances would suggest, they’re still highly intelligent and social. They’re affectionate, laid back, and extremely loyal. You want the fairy-type version of an Arcanine? Befriend a Grimmsnarl.
Besides their hair, they also pay a lot of attention to their teeth. Grimmsnarl fangs are massive and they’re just as self-conscious about their appearance as they are about their hair. To sharpen them and remove grime, Grimmsnarl rub their fangs along tree bark. This peels the bark off, which is also how Grimmsnarl mark the borders of their territories. In domestic settings, this is best substituted with regular logs. Most chewing materials produced by humans are much too weak stand up to constant chewing from a Grimmsnarl, which can reach 1,000 PSI.
(Fang marks from a wild Grimmsnarl, must have been an alpha bc this was ~8ft off the ground 🤯 ^)
