We felt the ❤️ from Hannah & Ben @ben.a.mackenzie 🧗‍♀️ today! We absolutely love their tiles. David really came alive looking at them. You can hear his reviews in the short videos! Their creations reflect well who they are to us. A bright, warm, and generous couple. We first met them @yurtcafelondon , our favourite local community café. And soon after Hannah introduced us to the amazing Bromley by Bow community @bromley_by_bow_centre theatre group. That led us to many wonderful adventures with the National theatre etc... They’ve moved out of London to start a new life in Tunbridge Wells, where D and I started ours together. We have so many fond memories of the deer park where we lived. We wholeheartedly wish them the very best in this beautiful corner of the world!                                      The start of our journey 

“Don’t be afraid to tell your story, for it will inspire others.”  

It has taken me so long to build up the courage to start blogging, I always had that fear in the back of my mind worried about judgment, my insecurities kick in and I have backed out so many times. But this quote is what really pushed me to just write. 

I guess I wanted to give you an insight of who I am, where I have come from and how I got to where I am today, how I found love again after many years of heartache, and what it is like to be a couple of traveling muso’s which I hope some one out there will relate to me.

I have been a full time musician since 2010, traveling to rural areas in VIC, NSW and SA and also a few capital cities playing acoustic cover gigs and developing my craft, passion and musicianship. That has been my life since then. Some may say it is an unstable and insecure lifestyle but I wouldn't change it for the world. 

Some people ask me “When I will get a real job?” “Surely you must get sick of traveling?” “Is that really all you do?” “You can’t surely make enough money to live on from music?” 

Here’s what I think. I will never ever get sick of it. Starting my own musical business is one of the most roller coaster of experiences I have ever had. It is also the most rewarding, inspiring, exciting and adventurous careers and I could never imagine my lifestyle any other way. I will admit I have been burnt, chewed up and spat out by many of the industry’s professionals. I have been managed, and controlled. I have been offered deal after deal and been judged overseas and even had people take my own music away from me and try to change me as an artist.

For that reason, I decided I just had to develop the strength to do this on my own. And here I am.

I believe I was born to do this, I learned to talk through song, and making music is my life.

I will confess, I spent many years lonely even though I was surrounded by people all the time, I spent many weeks waiting for the next time I would be leaving someone and struggled to ever find a sense of security. I thought that nothing was forever and that things were only temporary, until I met Dan.

And that is how our journey together begins............

When I got my industrial done, it hurt for a long fucking time. I don't know if this helps or not but just letting you know!

Aha thank you! My industrial and my helix were both like abnormal for cartilage piercings (my industrial holes were done months apart, and one of them is lower than is typical so not actually cartilage, and my helix was done with a gun that got stuck on my ear), so I'm just like, "Wtf was up with my tragus?" I seriously have no recollection. I think my nose overshadowed everything with that because it was my first non-ear piercing.

I'm gonna stop rambling now.

I believe they're called Cheese Cat dust plugs, and they come in lots of different designs!
