We interrupt your regularly scheduled Witch Hunt to bring you another alternate take on a salty favorite:
This time we’re taking the salt trope of Lila bringing in a friend to pretend to be Ladybug’s secret identity. Let’s call her Gloria just because. With Lila’s support/plotting, the two of them together manage convinces everyone, even Adrien that she is really Ladybug.
But what if Adrien doesn't like her? He's convinced she's Ladybug, sure, but...well...she's just not what he expected Ladybug to be.
She’s mean. And clingy. And smug. Like a Lila 2.0. It's kind of disappointing actually to think his Lady could be like this outside of the mask.
He'd thought better of her. All this time, he had believed the best in her, from her strong instances of courage to even her vulnerable moments. He’d loved everything about her. But that was when he thought she was someone else. Someone kind and empathetic and loving. Someone sweet and honest and strong.
Someone like Marinette.
As time goes on...he can’t help but start noticing how his “very good friend” is more like the Ladybug of his heart than the “actual Ladybug”.
And that she would make a better superhero as well.
No matter how much Ladybug or even Marinette herself tries to argue against it.
