Game of Thrones S8E3 (My opinion)
So I was beyond hyped for this episode and while the visuals were amazing....other things werenāt so great.
Things have become so predictable after Melisandre jumped in with the brown eyes, green eye *dramatic pause* blue eyes talk. I was like, okay Arya kills the Night King for sure....but...it was quite anticlimactic?? Or is it just me? Cuz she just jumped in and stabbed him and bamm boom heās dead.
I donāt have a problem with her killing him, donāt get me wrong, but donāt tell me, that the Night King, who was planning this shit for god knows how long, killed a fu*king dragon and brought it back, will be just offed with a - quite forseeable - stab?? So yeah, it was a letdown.
People were dying, but...i didnāt really feel any of them were necessary, they were just there for shock effect? Which is not even a thing in Game of Thrones anymore, because people dying in this show is expected! Theon was basically killed because his story line was pretty much over, he came back to Winterfell, proved he was a āgood manā (aka Bran basically telling him he did good now he can die peace out) and he died.Ā Jorahās death was...eh. I donāt even remember who else died, Melisandre at the end, who started the episode by saying sheāll die anyway, so whoās going to be surprised by that? And that was the closing scene for the episode...disappointed sorry not sorry.Ā
Edd died saving Samsā ass and let me just talk about that for a bit. Sam was out there simply to see shit (my theory is that Sam is the narrator, he definitely stays alive), he was utterly useless, caused Edd to die, had to have at least a few people save his sorry ass from dying. And iām just annoyed at how predictable this shit is. The crypt thing too. Oooh who wouldāve thought that dead people will rise and that includes the ones in the crypt. Like come on...
And now weāll have 3 episodes of drama and political bullshit because the wholeĀ āwinter is coming, winter is hereā (and in my opinion the most interesting) plotline with the Night King and his army - that was there in *every season* -Ā was finished off in one long-ass episode. An episode that consists of at least 50 minutes of āI canāt see shit what the fuck is going onā pitch black dark scenes. I didnāt mind the fighting, it was just all over the place.
Quite frankly, GOT was really good up until season 5 (or 4, I canāt remember) then it just became plain, flat, simple. Iām only watching this season, cuz Iāve already watched the other 7 (plus i was hoping theyād go out with a bang and this season would be epic, guess i was wrong about that). I donāt careĀ about the Iron Throne, or Cersei, or the shitty elephants, Euron is a boring character too.
āWinter is comingā more like Winter has left the chat. #BringBackWinter
