I bet you didn’t think a HOSTEL could bring me into the middle of the ocean. Here I am yet again, but this time in the middle of a saltwater dessert—El Nido Palawan, Philippines. 🏠 I arrived in El Nido planning to take one of their crowded full day boat tours. Plan changed quickly after arriving at my hostel—I soon found myself signing up for a 2-day camping and kayaking tour visiting the less tourist islands. The best thing... it’s was the SAME price as the full day boat tour. #AffordableTravel ⛵️ Hostels aren’t just a affordable place to sleep and to meet people, but they also provide off-the-beaten-path tours. They offer affordable cultural experiences you wouldn’t necessary find at a hotel. BUT... you know what major city doesn’t offer Hostels like the rest of the world? NEW YORK CITY 🌃 😱 NYC passed legislation that prevents new hostels from opening up and closed down 30+ hostels after it became law. That’s CRAZY! One of the most culturally-diverse cities in the world isn’t accessible to travelers because of this unfair legislation. You’re probably wondering: “How did he get there... on top of that dromedary 🐪... in the middle of the desert?” 🏜 I can easily answer that question: HOSTELS. 🏠 I’m the first to admit, I am by no means rolling in money 💸. This trip into the Sahara was less than $200 and my per night stay at the hostel was less than $10. #AffordableTravel. Hostels around the world provide everyone assess to more reasonably priced accommodation (that look sick), an atmosphere to easily meet new people, and a hub to find fun activities.
