Fillet steak, butternut purée, crispy purple potato, baby onions, purple sprouting broccoli and bourbon (non-alcoholic) jous. I’m a butcher’s daughter and super fussy about meat. Being new to the UK, I’m still trying out different retailers - local and UK wide. This was good beef. Really good. I also ran out of my own beef stock and not wanting to make more just yet, I ordered @truefoodsltd beef stock. This stock is a great substitute for homemade. Everything on that plate is from @mydelifresh with the exception of the non-alcoholic bourbon, which is one of my fave drinks - @lyresspiritco American Malt. Porterhouse Steak 750g at Home

Season the steak with black pepper and sea salt, allow the meat to sit at room temperature

Preheat oven to 160C

Heat the butter in a cast-iron skillet over high heat or just until the oil begins to lightly smoke

Cook the steak in the heated skillet over high heat for about 3-5 minutes per side, reduce the heat if the meat is browning too quickly
