Arum maculatum (Lords and Ladies, or Cuckoo Pint) #oneadayplant Today’s one a day plant is for @gardenswithdogs who enjoys a good Arum and for Dudo who spotted some of these and asked me previously. A beautiful and exotic looking British native plant. Lovely big juicy foliage and flowers that are both elegant and dramatic. Inspiration for Triffids?! This colony were particularly tall flowered and the leaves were very large. Could be site and soil, could be seed variation. Either way, I’m impressed. Probably should be more commonly planted in gardens rather than simply the preserve of the woodland verge.
