Did you know I made a Videos Game!?
On a remote island, an unassuming civilian is roped into a holy quest he has no understanding of.
Battle enemies using the Prismatic Dice, a set of magical artifacts that amplify or diminish your effectiveness. From your stats at the start of any given battle to your ability to read a sign, you'll need more than a tinge of luck to survive.
Collect weapons, equipment, and more to give yourself the edge in battle, whether it be a minor stat boost, a (very) rare chance to double your damage, or even tampering with the dice themselves, you'll have to make good use of whatever you can get your hands on and play your hand right to prevail.
The demo is roughly 4 hours long and mostly focuses on the first "Area" of the game.
An anecdote on Game Development
You know, I saw a post one time that said something to the effect of:
"The thing they don't tell you about Game Development is that you have to make the entire game."
And I kind of laughed at it the first time I saw it, because, I mean, yeah, it's true, but it's kind of a funny thing to say. Then I actually started working on bigger projects. And I slowly came to the realization that it's not just true but it's potentially one of the most important things to remember. Because I feel like a lot of projects that I work on end up going through this cycle:
And, it's an awesome feeling. And as you develop the structure of the game more, more and more things come into view. But then it comes time to create The Content.
And The Content takes. Significantly longer. Because it's one thing to code mechanics themselves. But to actually flesh them out into a "full" (even short) game? In my experience, that's where the bulk of development goes. It is one thing to code a The Mario that can run around and jump and stuff. It is, unfortunately, another to create all the levels and whatnot for him to run around In. So, I say this, to all devs who are near the beginning of their journeys. The hardest part about Game Development that nobody tells you about is that you have to make the whole thing. Start small, probably. And it's okay if you don't finish things to completion. Even a failed project gives you experience.
THE DISCIPLES OF AREN GEIH DEMO
After a long development, the demo for The Disciples of Aren Geih is finally here.
Please check it out!
Is It Intentional That The Name Cassie Viola Falls One Letter Short (Specifically In The Surname) Of Being A Valid Homestuck Troll Name
Nope! I have no clue what a Homestuck Troll Name actually is.
Her full name is Cassienne Viola, though it gets shortened to Cassie.
DOAG OST RELEASE
The OST for The Disciples of Aren Geih's demo just released on Youtube, and you can listen to it here;
The Original Soundtrack for the demo release of The Disciples of Aren Geih, a game by Molecular Development.
(And you can play the game itself here)
This is a track I made that was created with the intent of being in DOAG, but it didn't make the cut.
