Anyone else notice that Ugarte's watch is broken?
I never noticed that Ugarte has a watch on.
It says 3:30, which is impossible.
Edit: Thank you peterlorres21stcenturyfor correcting me on the time!
It's already dark out when we first see Rick's Café, and it's Moroco, so it's not 3:30 in the afternoon. But it's nowhere near closing time, it's early in the night. ("Hold these visas," "Help me Rick!" and Ilsa's arrival all happen in one night.)
So either he keeps his watch at an alternate time for some complex reason, or he wears a broken watch because he's that tacky. Given that his suit seems a size or so too big for him, I'm thinking the latter. (Then again, a too-big suit is good for hiding things.)
Just the icing on the cake of things that don't add up with this guy.
On a meta note, 3:30 is probably when Peter and Bogie filmed this scene, or at least when this specific take is from.
Love the new light feature in photomode 😌

Man, I miss wearing a pocket watch...
otp prompt #1
person a’s watch is broken and running late to a date with person b. person b is left sitting alone at a table set for two, getting pitiful looks from the wait staff and the other couples.
is person b pissed off when person a finally show up? or does person b realize how lucky they are to have person a in their life because even though person a isn’t always on time, they’ll never have to be alone again
Get Lost
i have this broken watch that i got last september or so. it’s been off since i’ve had it, nearly. every time i checked it, it was always off. not every broken clock gets to even be right once a day. at least it is now. some time this year, the glass cover shattered, leaving the hands frozen once more. at least it gets to be useful once in a while. i think that the shattering is beautiful. i’ve always enjoyed the shattering of glass, and the beauty of near randomness.
along those lines, i can’t stand to see things break. it hurts me for no reason. to see something, and know it can never be truly undone. when i see an object snap, or when i saw birds on the ground, never to be moving again. seeing what cannot be undone, be it from my hand, or one i can’t control, is one of the things that hurts me the most.
My watch might be a little broken-
