12.14.21 Lunchtime drawing: Brooklyn Kolache on Bleecker Street, I’ve been wanting to try these since they opened up here after being introduced to Kolache (Sweet or savory Czech stuffed pastries) in Columbus, Ohio at Kolache Republic!!!

Up top are two savory selections with spicy mustard and sriracha condiments and of course iced Kitten Coffee with half/half and simple syrup. This is my go to breakfast spot. They have the best coffee and breakfast money can buy and your wait is no longer than 5 min, can't beat it. Also the back yard is pretty cool, nice staff and great location for where ever your headed as it is on the cusp of Bedford- Stuyvesant, Clinton Hill and Williamsburg. So maybe this isn't a grand adventure, but this weekend I took a little trip deep into the heart of Brooklyn on a quest for kolaches.  Now, for those of you who don't know and obviously are not southern, a kolache comes in two forms.  The first and original is made with fruit and is a sweeter pastry, the second and more well known is dough stuffed with meat, cheese and if you're lucky something spicy.

I've raved about kolaches to my new found friends in New York, but none have clue as to what I am talking about.  If you are in the same boat, do yourself a favor and head to Brooklyn Kolache and experience the delightful breakfast treat that I could not live without.
