Indosuchus raptorius
Source: http://pikimal.com/dinosaur/vs/indosuchus/mandschurosaurus
Name: Indosuchus raptorius
Name Meaning: Raptorial Indus Crocodile
First Described: 1933
Described By: Huene & Matley
Classification: Dinosauria, Saurischia, Theropoda, Neotheropoda, Abelisauridae, Carnotaurinae
Indosuchus was a cousin of Carontaurus, however due to its similarity to other carnivores in its region it is often considered a dubious genus. It was discovered in the Lameta Formation in India, which dates back to the Maastrichtian stage of the Late Cretaceous period, from 70 to 66 million years ago. It was a bipedal carnivore and was about six meters long. It also had a crested skull that was partially flattened on the type. At the time of its discovery, Abelisaurids and Carnotaurs were relatively unknown; as such it was originally classified as an Allosaur. However, since the discovery of the Abelisaurids it has been reclassified. More fossils would have to be found before it can be better analyzed.
